RoselynSwaying due to my mare as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes before they found the stars that painted the sky due to the lack of light other than the lanterns that lit the way though it went dark as I closed my eyes. Sitting up properly when Kim nudged my foot with hers to avoid me from passing out as I could slip out of my saddle from doing so. Yawning as I tugged my coat more around me before the first snow flake fell and I stared in Aw at the sight, I was never allowed to play in snow as it could risk me getting sick and they always had shovelled it before I had a chance.
"You good?" Kim questioned.
"I've never been able to feel snow before" I explained with a huge smile as I caught a few in my hands that were gloved so they didn't melt immediately.
"It's nothing special..." she shrugged while we crossed over a bridge as I lowered my hands again as I my expression dropped, "but I suppose it can be for you..." she hummed when she noticed my expression and I smiled slightly at her.
"Is there anything you wish you could see?" I questioned.
"A colony of avians..." she spoke with a smile, "my mother said that in the past we used to live in these huge colonies of different avians and lived in harmony away from humans... but humans grew stronger and more and more land was being taken over until we had to split and go into hiding..."
"That does sound beautiful..." I whispered.
"Guys how do you feel about sleeping in a bed for once!" Sam called out and I looked ahead seeing the inn.
"Finally!" Jake groaned as we approached it, they had a small covered areas for our horses were we hitched them before going to head inside but Kim yanked be back before getting me to turn around as she wrapped a mask around my face and after she pulled my hood over my head.
"Someone might recognise you" she explained before we walked in, but he time we got there Sam had already gotten the keys and handed Kim one.
"You two are sharing" he announced before walking away, heading up the stairs and into a room as she unlocked it and when she opened it she didn't go to the large bed straight away but instead looked under neither it and any spots where anyone could hide.
"All clear" she hummed as I flopped onto the bed with relief.
"God I missed beds..." I sighed as she put her bag down beside mine as I ripped the mask off, "how you wear that... I felt like I was suffocating"
"I have a good one... plus it's ever that or I die" she shrugged.
"Are you going to sleep in it?" I joked and she nodded, "you can take it off... even if it's only when we turn the lights off..."
"I'd prefer not to..." She muttered and I dropped the subject as she hung her robe and armory on the door leaving her in normal clothes as she had also left her boots by the door.
"Bit chilly in here" I hummed as I moved under the blankets as she followed as she shifted a bit due to her wings until she was comfortable and she didn't seem fazed at all by the cold.
"It's better than the tents..." She sighed while closing her eyes as I turned around so my back was to her, "stop shaking so much"
"I'm cold" I reasoned as I tugged the blanket closer before I was then yanked as she was now flush to my back while her wing came around us and cocooned us in warm.
"Better?..." She sighed
"Yes.." I muttered as she rested one arm around my waist with the other under my pillow while I rested mine in front of me.
Closing my eyes as I bathed in the warmth she emits, I had never had this kind of act done before since I wasn't even allowed to tell others my true identity of who I love. Letting myself cherish it as I doubt another woman would ever be able to hold me like this again as I slowly drifted to sleep.
Morning
Stirring awake while inching closer to the main source of warmth as I wrapped my free arm around it while my other hand rested under my head and Kim suddenly yawned as my brain booted up as I realized my head had been buried in the women's chest as I curl around her while he hand rested on my lower back. Even though she was awake she didn't seemed fazed at all, pulling head back slightly as I yawned while she ruffled my hair with a soft chuckle as it was already messy.
"Tired?" She questioned as I hummed in agreement.
Time skip
I must have slipped back into sleep as the next time I opened my eyes the women was shaking me awake and had all Her gear on, "come on... we got to get going" she hummed.
Sitting up as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes as she had already packed everything up and brought it downstairs as she left clothes on the bed before walking out, stripping before pulling the new black pants on before the dark green poet shirt as I tucked it in before pulling a thick jacket on and pulling my cape onto myself as it was a similar dark green and was lined with gold with a hood. Brushing my hair before putting the stuff into my bag as I took it downstairs after pulling my boots on as I made sure to keep my hood up as I walked through the inn and when I got outside there was a thick layer of snow which explained why she made sure I had warmed clothes on as I slid gloves on.
"Here" Kim spoke as she walked over asn she brushed my hair away before wrapping a scarf around my neck and making it cover my lower face slightly so I wasn't breathing in the cold air so much.
"Thanks" I hummed as she wore here us usual clothing as the only difference was the fact that she wore gloves now with a thicker robe.
Walking over to my horse as I hoisted myself up though it was interrupted as Kim suddenly stood up straighter as she looked around, "what is it Kim" Sam questioned.
"Hunters... definitely" she muttered.
"We need to leave then... now.." Jake spoke sternly as every quickly saddled up.
