Kingsley

Exhaling a long breath as I wrapped my arms tighter around Rose as she slept peacefully against me while we laid on our sides with her face in my chest as I had mine buried into the top of her head as I held her close to me with my wing draped over us. She rolled over onto her back away from me as I sat up a bit before leaning over her as I nuzzled her neck as I silently left my scent on her as the faint vanilla scent she put off that only I was able to smell mixed with my own eucalyptus and forestry one. She yawned as I tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear before pressing a soft kiss to her cheek as her eyes slowly opened as she smiled up at me.

"Morning" she whispered and I felt my tail sway under the blanket.

"Good morning darling" I smiled down at her.

"Sleepy" she mumbled while closing her eyes again as I laid down onto my stomach beside her as I stretched out my wings as one hung off the bed and the other over rose.

"That's nice..." I sighed in relaxation and I felt her place her hand on it with a soft laugh while she combed a hand through the feathers slightly making a few shed off.

"Your feathers are huge!" She exclaimed as she held one us as it was twice the size of her hand.

"Yeah we'll I'm shedding because winters finishing up so I'll have new ones..." I mumbled as she sat up and went to grab her crutches though I yanked her back, "if I see you walking I'll take them away..."

"How else am I suppose to use the toilet?" She questioned as I rested my head on her thighs while she sat on the edge.

"I'll carry you" I yawned as I nuzzled my face into her stomach making her sweater scrunch up a bit.

"Fine..." she sighed knowing I wouldnt let her regardless, standing up as I stretched before scooping her up bridal style before sitting her down on the toilet and leaving so I wasn't just standing there.

Taking the time to change into tighter black pants and a sleeveless black top which I tucked into it before a cape that had my shoulder guard attachment and no hood, I had all my clothes special made for my wings as they had buttons at the top that I easily just clipped in. Pulling my belt through my pants before attaching my sword to it and the obsedian dagger as I had crafted it myself.

"Kim!" Rose called out and I quickly walked in as she washed her hands before I scooped her up bridal style while she leaned her head onto my shoulder before I sat her down onto the bed before going into the wardrobe, looking over all the lush dresses before grabbing a soft baby blue one which had darker blue flowers patterns stitches at the bottom with puffy sleeves.

"How about this one?" I asked as I brought it out and she nodded.

"I like that one" she smiled as I laid it down onto the bed.

"Do you need help changing?" I offered making her ears burn, "it's fine if you do, I won't stare"

"Okay... I just need to balance against you is all" she explain while standing as I held her hips for her as she pulled her sweater off before reaching for her pants and I kept a soft hold and stared out the window so she wouldn't feel uncomfortable, she grabbed her underwear and pulled it on quickly before grabbing the dress as she had more struggle and I let go of one of her hips and helped her pull it up as it had a corsets made into it like most of her dresses.

"Can you do the back?" She asked and I nodded as she turned around and for some reason doing this for her seemed to make butterflies stir in my stomach as I moved her hair to show her bare back and neck. I assumed it was because instead of marriage, avians had bonding, it was where the partner marks the other on there shoulder while the other does the same leaving a mark that fades into a tattoo type mark, "If I had wings what colour do you recon they would be?"

"A soft white... pure white in our eyes shows purity of a soul and kindness within the heart..." I muttered as I tied the ribbon on the back before sliding my arms around her waist and resting my head on her shoulder, "I doubt they'd be very big like mine but a decent size... probably a Kiki"

"That sounds nice..." she smiled, "I'd love to be able to fly with you..."

"Yeah... that does sound nice" I mumbled before she turned back around as she reached up and cupped the side of my head as I leaned into her hand.

"Do you have to wear a mask..." she frowned.

"Yes rose... it's part of being a assassin" I muttered before leaning down and kissing her cheek, "it means if we ever needed to leave I could easily lay the sword down... I know a lot a assassins that left the lifestyle easily because of it and it keeps me safe"

"Okay.." she sighed as her hand fell, "I get that... same way with the crown I guess"

"Is it hard? Being royalty?" I asked.

"Of course... you have to stay in a castle and know that nobody knows who you truly are... you can't show your true self" she mumbled, "I could never walk out this palace alone..."

"I'll protect you... I promise" I whispered as she rested her head against my chest.

"I know..." she sighed and I pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

"Wanna head down for breakfast" I asked and she nodded before I picked her up and she her imagined I would just do the same as last time but instead I threw her over my shoulder making her burst out yelling.

"Put me down!" She yelled as she hit my back as she laugh slightly but our laughter stopped when suddenly the door swung open as four guards stood ready as I froze while they pointed there crossbows at me, "He-"

"Watch out princess!" One yelled before they shot and I naturally covered us with my wings and I cried out as it struck my wing as I crumbled to the ground when the second hit it.

"You idiots!" She yelled as she slipped out and Sam and Jess rushed in, "get a another nurse before I hang you!"

"Hey hey it's alright Kim!" Jess stressed as I laid bent over in a feral position as my wings shook in agony, the arrows would have been silver which feels much more painful compared to normal copper or metal, "Control the bleeding" she ordered rose.

"How!" She panicked as she held around the wound, three other nurses rushed in as I finally felt the exhaustion kick in before my vision disappeared.
