RoselynRelaxing back into Kim as I laid with my back to her chest as she was still sat up against the wall with myself between her legs as she used her wings to wrap around us like a tent while he arms closer around my upper waist while her head rested on mine as I leaned back against her chest. She had slowly improved throughout the night so the poison should have cleared by now, she sighed while pulling me closer as she moved her head to rest on my shoulder instead as she was half asleep like me and we both knew I would be ice cold when I moved from her so relaxed back instead.
"I'm so glad you put off so much heat..." I mumbled.
"We have to... we're built to fly through snow storms and still not get cold and even during the summer our body can regulate its temperature..." she explained as she took in a deep breath and I could feel her warm breath against my neck as she sighed and I ignored the feeling, "What wrong?" She asked
"What you mean?" I spoke confused.
"Your pulse quickened" she stated.
"You can hear my pulse?"
"If I focus on it enough and it also helps that I'm right next to it" she hummed as she used he thumb to trace circles along my stomach.
"Just worried about what's gonna happen when I get home... this is the first time I've had someone who doesn't just care about me because of my title... I don't wanna loose you..." I explained as I croaked the last bit as I teared up.
"Relax... I won't leave you..." she reassured me, "even if I can only visit occasionally in secret..."
"okay..." I sniffled as I shifted so I was on my side as I buried my face into her chest while she rubbed my back, it past a short time before we actually got up and she had a slight pain in her wing but other than that she was apparently fine which was good. Walking out as I followed her as she looked around as she stayed silent and completely still as I did the same as I assumed she was trying to listen for the others.
"I crashed came from that direction and they would have followed behind so I recon if we head that direction we should be able to at least find there tracks" she explained and I nodded as we walked through the snow.
Time skip
Groaning quietly due to the aching through my legs as I struggled to keep up with the women's fast pace as she clearly wasn't affected by the thick snow as much as I was seeing as it came up to my knees so it barely came up to hers with our height difference. She glanced over at me before looking back ahead before my foot got caught on a hidden root as I proceeded to go face first into the deep snow. Sitting up with her help as she brushes the snow from my hair for me as I shivered while she stood me up before pulling me into her robe as her warmth wrapped around my shaking body. Going to pull away when I winced and grabbed back onto her when I went to put pressure on my ankle as she held me close so I wouldn't lose my balance.
"I'll carry you" she muttered and I was too exhausted to complain as she hoisted me up and got me to wrap my legs around her waist as I held onto her neck while she tucked her robe around me the best she could and used her wings like a umbrella to cover us from the snow that was starting to fall.
"Are we close..." I whispered.
"Yeah... just rest okay?" she muttered.
"So cold..." I mumbled and I heard something in the distance.
"There they are... it's alright rose..." She reassured me.
Closing my eyes as I attempted to save energy so I wouldn't get sick from the cold, I expected her to put me down when they got to us but she instead lifted me up with her onto her own horse and shifted me so my arms were around her waist and head in her chest to warm it. I couldn't properly understand what they were saying as she dropped a thick fabric over me which I assumed was a blanket and I knew I'll definitely heat up soon. She combed her hand through my hair as my head was also under the blanket, she carefully untangled it as it was a pleasant distraction from the dull ache in my ankle and the cold.
"Hey how you feeling .." she asked me softly.
"ankle hurts badly... cold..." I mumbled.
"We're heading to the camp they set up so Jess will be able to treat you there..." she reassured me as she undid her vest so it wasn't stopping the warmth from getting to me as I quickly slid my arms underneath as I curled closer.
It felt like a daze between getting there and Jess asking me questions which I could barely answer which led her to saying something about hypothermia while I sat in front of the fire. They had set up camp in a cave as it had a small enough hole in the roof to allow smoke to escape and it was big enough to fit the horses near the entrance so they were out in the snow. Kim soon came over as I assumed she was getting her wings looked over, she slid in behind me so I had warmth all around me.
"Never did I think I'll see Kim be kind to someone" Jake chuckled on the other side of the fire.
"Watch it..." she warned as I closed my eyes while relaxing back into her, I felt safe in her arms because I knew she'd protect me since she did.
"Here" Sam spoke up as he handed us bowls of hot soup as I muttered a thank you as I felt like just falling straight asleep.
"You should eat... it'll help you warm up and have energy otherwise you'll get sick" she muttered as she held the bowl out for me, taking it from her as I brought it up to my lips before taking a long sip.
It warmed my stomach as I slowly sipped it, it took me a while longer to finish compared to the other two but that was due to the fact that I felt like I was holding up a large river rock. Kim had to pick me up as I couldn't put any weight onto my ankle without wanting to burst out crying from the pain, she laid me down into the little sleeping set up she made me as it was surprisingly comfortable as the others had similar ones. She brought the blanket over me before walking over to Sam who was looking over a map by the entrance as he tried to navigate how the stars were and they laughed softly with each other as she had to physically show him as jealousy stirred in my stomach as I rolled so my back was to everyone.
Why couldn't she teach me about the stars...
