Sarah and Kie headed back over to Figure Eight to shower and to change into all black clothes for tonight while John B, Pope, JJ, and I returned to the Chateau. Taking a shower was also at the top of my list, needing to wash away the twelve hours I spent on the boat and wanting to get the smell of the marsh water out of my hair after playing my prank on JJ. When I came out of the bathroom, feeling like a whole new person with clean clothes and vanilla scented hair, I saw the guys had already changed into black clothes and started to gather all the tools necessary to be able to pull this off. Pope was standing around the dining room table putting new batteries in all the flashlights while John B and JJ were gathering the rope and pulley. Watching JJ fill his backpack with extra batteries that were definitely not the right ones we needed and a knife slightly bigger than your average pocket knife gave me an uneasy feeling in my stomach again about John B going down into the well. I mean who knows what's down there and there were so many things that could go wrong. The rope could snap, John B could drown, and there's a possibility that Ms. Crain might hack us all to pieces. Not to mention, I  was still confused as to why we had to go back to Crain house at night and once again no one seemed to care that I was completely terrified because they were all too focused on finding the gold.

Since we arrived back at the Chateau, John B had been giving me these sideways glances, like he was displeased with me or something and only half trying to hide it and I couldn't figure out why. He was the one who just left me on a boat overnight so why should he be the one with the attitude? But without fail, every time I'd try to talk to him he'd either ignore me or barely give me one word answers. I tried to ask him how he felt about going down in the well and he just shrugged his shoulders. I tried to see if he needed my help getting any tools or supplies together but he shook his head and gave me a snappy 'nope' before rolling his eyes. I really didn't understand what his issue was. We hadn't even seen each other in over twelve hours, what could I have possibly done to make him act this way? Usually anytime one of us has an issue with the other we just come right out and say it, sure we argue about it but it seems to work for us that way. So for John B to almost ignore me must mean that whatever is going on is a pretty big deal. And that didn't sit right with me especially under the circumstances of tonight. I looked at Pope in hopes that maybe he had a clue of what John B's problem was but instead he gave me an almost nervous look before focusing back on putting batteries in the flashlights as if it was something that needed his full attention. JJ was no help either, although he was snickering at the fact that I was being ignored like he knew why but wouldn't say. Boys, am I right?

We all made our way down the stairs of the porch, meeting the girls by the van.Thankfully, the girls had come back and hopefully it would ease the tension or whatever was wrong with them.

"Alright, let's do this!" John B pulled the keys to the Twinkie from his pocket and hesitated to reach for the driver's side door handle before shooting me a glare.
