English not being her first language, Quin sometimes forgets the English words for things. She also knew pretty much every language that exists, so it can get confusing.

Quin, Peter, Peitro, and Scott were trying to play video games together, but the system didn't want to work. Some of the others were also in the room doing whatever it was they did. Scott tried to get it to work, but whatever he did didn't work. Then Peter tried and yet again, it didn't work.

"Here, let me try," Quin said. She went over to it and did something. Whatever it was that she did, it worked. "There."

"How?" Scott asked.

"I'm good with tech," Quin shrugged, sitting back between Peter and Peitro on the couch.

"Yet, last week, you didn't know what a 'sandwich' was called," Steve teased from the other couch.

~~

Quin was in the living room with some of the other Avengers. They were watching random stuff on the television. Eventually, everyone was starting to get hungry. They talked about what they should eat.

"We could just have, uh..." Quin trailed off a little trying to think of the word. "What is it called when there's bread then other food and then more bread?"

"A sandwich?" Tony asked.

"Yeah," Quin nodded. "We could just have sandwiches. They're simple and easy."

~~

"Hey, sandwich is a weird word," Quin said. "Like a witch of sand. It's odd."

"You also forgot what a 'trampoline' was," Scott said.

~~

"... she fell off the trampoline again," Scott was telling Quin how his daughter had broken her arm. He looked over at Quin more directly after showing her a picture. He saw a seemingly confused look. "Oh, I lost you, didn't I?"

"A trampoline..." Quin said. "That's the... the circle bouncy thing, right?"

"Yeah."

"Okay, continue."

~~

"And 'reservation'," Tony said, sitting on a chair.

"Tony, you weren't even part of this conversation," Quin said. "I thought you were in a meeting."

"It ended early. Oh, and you also forgot the word 'letters'. And 'toast'. And 'lemon'. And 'thirsty'. And-"

~~

"Hey, Tony?" Quin asked. "What time was that, uh, food appointment scheduled for again?" She and Tony were going on a scouting mission and had to go to dinner at this fancy restaurant.

"Food appointment?" Tony cocked his eyebrow. "Do you mean reservation?"

"Same thing," Quin shrugged. "Now answer the question, so I know when I have to be ready."

——

"Okay, so... I may or may not be a bit dyslexic," Quin admitted after rereading the same thing over and over again unsure what it said. Everyone had been looking at her expectantly. "My brain is hardwired for Greek, not English. The... uh, word numbers seem to be moving around. I'm too sleep-deprived for this."

"Word numbers?" Sam snickered.

"You know what I mean," Quin rolled her eyes.

"Letters?" Steve offered.

"Yeah. Letters."

——

Quin walked into the kitchen early in the morning. Steve looked over at her and handed her a mug of coffee. She muttered a 'thanks' and drank from it. She leaned on the counter drinking her coffee, watching Steve cook breakfast.

The others slowly filed into the room. Steve handed people plates and coffee as they entered. He also refilled Quin's mug when it got low. She didn't even have to say anything.

"Do you want food too, Quin?" Steve asked. Quin only sometimes actually ate breakfast with them.

"I'll just have some, uh, extra cooked bread," Quin shrugged, drinking more coffee.

"You mean toast?" Steve asked.

"Yeah, is that not what I said?"

——

"I'm heading to the store, does anyone want anything?" Pepper asked. People told her their random requests.

"Oh, can you get some... uh, what's yellow limes?" Quin said.

"Lemons?"

"Yes, lemons. Can you get some lemons?"

"Sure, Quin."

"Thanks, Pepper."

——

Quin was in the lab with Tony and Bruce. She was working on some research for a closed case. A case that she's like 99.99999% sure had the wrong conclusion and was being covered up. She'd been down in the lab for like two days straight working on it.

"Hey, Quin?" Bruce asked.

"Hmm?" Quin glanced up at him.

"You okay?"

"Yeah," Quin nodded, her voice was a little gruff.

"You sure? Do you need anything?"

"Uh, I guess I could use something to drink. I'm kinda.. what's the word... water hungry?"

"Thirst?" Bruce asked. "How about you take a break and we can grab you something to drink."

"Yeah, okay."

~~

"Okay, okay," Quin said. "I get it, I don't know words sometimes. Just keep in mind that English isn't my first language, and I'm from Mount Olympus."

"Quin's right, let's take it easy on her," Steve said.

"Thank you," Quin said.
