26. Rat Ish ( Part 1)

Continuing from last chapter..

"Come on RJ, we aren't sitting here all night and waiting for your dad to come back" lexy said as she picked him up from off the living room floor and headed towards the kitchen to grab her keys.

Before walking out the apartment she eyed the black bag once again and contemplated on whether or not she should peak inside or just leave it alone.

"Should I look at it? No maybe I should wait, nevermind, fuck it, ill just take it with me" she said as she grabbed the bag off the counter but accidentally made a small rectangular box that was inside, fall onto the floor.

She picked it up and observed the box while smiling from ear to ear although she couldn't actually see what was inside the box because it was wrapped tightly with red ribbon.

"Guess we will just have to wait until we are around daddy before we can see what's inside" she said to RJ as she placed the box inside her purse and headed out the apartment.

Before getting ready to drive off she called Shani, hoping that she could do her a small last minute favor.

"Hello?" Shani answered with an attitude.

"Hey cuz, how are you?" lexy asked, trying to sound as if she was the sweetest person ever.

"Don't hey cuz, how are you doing me! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH YOU AND DOUGIE? Ive been watching all his lives today and im confused as to why he's coming at you the way that he is. What did you do to him?"

"I didn't do anything to him!"

"Are you sure Alexis? You do, do a lot of shit so maybe you just forgot what you did to him"

"Im positive that I didn't do anything Shani! I swear. Now can you uhm.. do me a favor? Quan is headed to our old high school right now to fight Dougie and I was wondering if you could watch RJ for me while I go try to stop him?"

"But I thought you were done with quan?"

"I am!"

"So why do you care if hes going to fight Dougie? And WHY was he all in your house, cooking for you earlier on live?"

"SHANI that's not the point right now. Please just do me this one favor and watch RJ for me. Please, Im begging you"

"Alexis, I don't know what to say. If I watch RJ for you then what? Your going to go follow behind quans trifling ass and go try to stop him from fighting Dougie? And then what? You think that's going to get Dougie to stop talking about you? Quan confronting Dougie in person is only going to create bigger beef amongst DOA and OY"

"Well what am I supposed to do then? Let them fight?"

"I don't know, but you need to stay your ass out of it"

"Shani look, I don't have time for this right now. Are you going to watch RJ for me or not?!"

'No alexis! You didn't even call me to ask me how my baby was doing but you expect ME to watch your kid! What kind of shit is that?"

"Wait-what? You had the baby?!"

"YES BITCH! A whole month ago! You've been so caught up in these niggas once again that you don't even know whats going on with your own family or friends! It always about alexis and how Alexis feels and what Alexis wants. It can never be about anyone else"

Lexy looked away (but of course Shani couldn't see this over the phone).

"Im honestly so sorry shani. If I would have knew that you were in labor, I would have been right there with you in the hospital, by your side!"
