28. Big girls, dont cry

The same night..

"This is an ultrasound picture from ... tyasia..?" she questioned as she read the name at the top of the photo. "But why would quan give this to me?... I know he didn't do what I think he did... or did he?"  She thought.

"Don't cry, don't cry" she repeated, as she got out the car with both Quans phone and the ultrasound picture in hand and walked over to a trash bin located outside the store.

Without hesitating, she threw both items into the trash bin then walked inside the empty 7-eleven to grab a drink.

The only true friend she had went behind her back and slept with her baby daddy and as much as she wanted to cry, scream, yell and complain, she didn't have it in her to do so. All she wanted to do was go home but since she was already at 7- eleven, she decided to go in and grab one of her favorite drinks, a cherry slurpee.

She quickly walked inside the store to avoid the cold nighttime breeze from hitting her face and greeted the store owner with a friendly "hi".

After she headed towards the slurpee machine located in the back of the store but not without checking to see if any of the hot food was still available since she never got a chance to eat the spaghetti Quan cooked for her.

Unfortunately the only thing left was a cold slice of cheese pizza, that didn't look appetizing to say the least.

She continued to head towards the back of the store while eyeing for any other interesting snacks that possibly might be able to hold her over until she got home.

"I wish this store sold alcohol so I could buy some and pour the whole bottle into this slurpee" she said to herself as she grabbed an extra large cup and began pouring the cherry flavor inside.

While waiting for the cup to fill, she heard a group of boys enter the store and chat amongst eachother but thought nothing of it. It wasn't unusual for guys to come into a store like this especially this late at night, but their voices sounded familiar. A little too familiar.

She made a quick glance around the store and saw a guy who looked like sdot but much taller looking at candy, jayhound looking at chips and a light skinned guy with dreads walking her way [to possibly get a slurpee too].

She quickly grabbed a lid and straw for her drink then walked away from the machine as fast as possible.

To avoid coming in contact with any of them (especially jayhound) she decided to go down a different isle to get to the front of the store.

"This all?" the cashier asked with a thick accent as he watched her place her slurpee on the counter.

"Huh?"

"This is all you want ma'am?!"

"Oh Yes-Yes, sorry. My mind is all over the place right now" she said as she reached for her purse but noticed she left it inside the car.

"What you need? $1? Don't worry about it, I got you" a voice said from behind her.

"You didn't have to do that" she said as she watched a hand stretch out to give the cashier the money and turned to look at the generous person.

"Alexis? I aint even know you was in here" jayhound said as he passed her the [now paid for] slurpee from off the counter.

"Oh hey jay hound" she said as she turned around to fully look at him. "I didn't know you were in here either" (she lied).

"Yeah, I go here like almost everyday. Lemme ask you a question tho, Why you do my boy Shadon like that?"

"What do you mean why'd did I do your boy Shadon like that? Like what?" Lexy asked, as she moved out the way so the other sweepers could pay for their stuff.
