"Are you sure you have everything sweetie?" Grandma Mary asked as she watched lexy walk down the stairs holding a duffle bag filled with all of her and the kids belongings.
"Yes grandma, I have every single thing I could possibly need plus I don't think I could fit anything else inside my bag"
Grandma Mary sighed in disappointment as she looked over at RJ and Amoura who were sitting on the couch, watching an old episode of SpongeBob.
"You know.. I'm really going to miss you and my grand babies. You sure you don't want to stay? I'll even cook you a special dinner tonight"
Lexy smiled at her kind gesture.
"No Grandma. I promised shani I would be at her gender reveal this weekend, plus the kids need to see their dads. We are only going to be gone for one week anyway, so you'll be fine until I come back home"

In all honesty, this has been the most peaceful year despite Kay and Quan going away to jail. Of course I care about the both of them and want the best for them but I noticed I lost myself trying to always be there for them. Now, I refuse to put that energy into anyone else but myself or my kids and I mean that!
Although I don't have the shop anymore, I have a new job at a nail salon close to my grandmas house as a esthetician and I'm working towards purchasing my first car without the help of my parents.
My dad has also been more consistent with trying to repair our relationship. I guess you can say... I felt the need to find love in these no good guys only because I didn't feel any love coming from him growing up.
I also have been hanging out with dthang a lot since he works for my dad and is a friend of the family. We usually don't hang out alone and only at family events but you know... it's still nice being around him and remembering the good times before I even dated kay or messed with Dougie.
