Continuation from last chapter...
"Forget the grocery store. I'll just go another day" she said quickly while going into the room and closing the door behind her.
"Who's that out there?" Kay asked while standing up from the floor and fixing his outfit.
"I think micah brought the sweepers here"
"The sweepers? Move Lex" he said while trying to get past her.
"Wait Kevin! what are you doing?"
"I'm just trying to leave"
"Please don't do anything stupid"
"I'm not"
" I'll walk you out, come on-"
"Walk me out? I'm a grown ass man. Now Move Lex"
She pushed back a little but followed closely behind him all the way to the front door.
Shadons face twisted as he watched them come from out the bedroom together and the chatting and laughter from all the sweepers faded as they walked by.
"Micah can you watch the kids while I go downstairs really quick?" Lexy asked.
"Yeah I got you" she said while taking a seat on Nazzy.
Luckily her and Kay were able to continue out the apartment with no arguments or complaints.

"See. Like I said. I'm a grown ass man" kay said as he walked down the stairs and out the apartment building.
"Alright Kevin, damn! I didn't say you weren't. Chill out"
" fine" he said as he unlocked his car door.
"Wait before you get in, can I ask you for a favor?"
"What Alexis?" He sighed.
"Can I borrow $200"
"For what?"
She looked down the street and let the cold wind hit her face before looking back at him.
"...Groceries" (she lied)
"What? You don't have money for food?" He questioned.
"No.. the party was expensive and I miscalculated my budget" (she lied again).
He reached in his pocket and pulled out the money she needed plus an extra $100.
"You don't have to pay me back"
"You sure?" She asked while counting the money.
"I'm sure. Just make sure my daughter get all her favorite snacks"
She smiled. "I will"
"Need a ride to the grocery store?" He asked.
"No, I'll walk"
"You sure?"
"Yeah but thanks anyway. I appreciate it"
