Her touch

Annie and I looked at each other in shock after hearing what the guy had to say.
"What do you mean Wall Maria has been breached?!" A man yelled "Was it the Colossal Titan?!" A lady yelled in the back. "What about the armoured one?! Has anyone see him?" Another person asked.
I looked over at Annie who mirrored the same worried look that I had.
"What the hell is happening?" I asked her.
"How the hell should I know? But one thing, we sure did choose a damn good time to take a day off." She sighed and held onto the sleeve of my shirt.
"I think we just about lucked out with this one. So what happens now?" I asked
"I don't think we should go back..." she said.
"Why not?" I asked.
"People are getting slaughtered out there, if we go out there, either your or me could be killed, and I can't imagine a world without you Y/N." Annie explained.
I smiled and put my hand on her arm. "
We need to go back. I'm shit scared, but we need to go back." I explained.
"You got it Mr Boss man" she said saluting me.
"Shut up." I said with a slight smile.
"What do we do now?" I asked looking around.
"I presume we just go back?" She rebutted
"Is it that simple?" I asked.
"I mean... we can just walk back right?" She asked.

We walked outside and headed for the wall. By some miracle of god and not at all plot convince there was a carriage with two horses
"Shit, let's just take these two." I said walking towards one.
"I mean sure, but let's just take the one" she suggested.
I got up onto the saddle and looked down at Annie and helped her up. "You know, you can start growing any time An, I'm not always going to be around to help you up on a horse that's taller than you laying down." I joked.
"You know, you can shut the fuck up at anytime." She retorted.

We arrived in the  afternoon and by the looks of it, it was pretty much over, all we could hear were the screams of soldiers getting torn to pieces. Annie and I got off the horse, and looked at the walls in disbelief. I put my hands over my mouth as I tried to say "What now?"
"What do you think Y/N, we go in." She said.
"Look, I don't know if you're seeing what I'm seeing, but there's no one left. Everyone's dead."
"No, they're not. If there's anyone still alive they'd be in the castle, think about it, it's a solid place to hold up, it's fortified and if I had to guess where they'll keep the supplies." She explained.
"If we do this... and I die. I'm going to haunt the shit out of you when I come back." I said nervously.
"Titans are big and dumb, give them a noise and they'll follow, just stay behind me." She explained.

The two of us ran over to the entrance of the wall and managed to get through it now problem as it was left slightly opened by a horse carriage that was too large to fit and the door could not close the full way.
"I wonder what happened here?" I thought crawling under it as there was no other place to get through it. Upon getting in I was immediately taken aback by how much blood there was in this place. "Jesus." I said looking at all the body parts as well as all the blood everywhere. "I thought it was bad, I didn't know it would be like this..." Annie said. I walked over to one of the bodies with its legs and its left arm missing, it was an old lady. "Wait... I know her." I said getting down on my haunches. Annie walked over to me and asked "who is that?"
"Don't you remember? It was that old lady who sold us those donuts..." I explained.
Annie looked back at the carriage and asked "Do you think she was trying to escape?"
"What do you mean?" I asked getting back up and looking back at the carriage too.
"Do you think they were trying to escape, but someone put the carriage in the way to stop that?" She asked.
"I don't follow.... Why would anyone try to prevent civilians from escaping?" I asked.
"Maybe there was something important in this thing." She said walking towards it and flicking the blanket that was covering what was inside. She flicked it open to reveal there was nothing important, just general living luxuries, like a couch, a number of books and sleeping care, like a very expensive looking pillow and blanket, from what I could see just at the top, but there was bound to be more underneath all that junk.
"Why would someone try to get these through the gate and not all the people? This stuff is not enough for even three people, this stuff is for one person only." I explained.
"So do you think someone, a politician maybe, tried to grab the luxuries he could before time ran out and the cart got stuck preventing anyone from getting through that was behind him?" Annie asked.
"I don't want to think someone could be so selfish but i can't find another explanation other than that..." I said sadly.
PAP PAP PAP PAP
A loud noise coming from the castle, it sounded like multiple gunshots going off simultaneously.
Annie and I both quickly looked over at the castle.
"Gunshots?" She asked out loud.
I looked over to the right and noticed a 14 meter Titan had been distracted by the sound of gunfire. Annie noticed it too, we both looked at each other and realised that's where we needed to go.

Annie and I had to sneak around all the titans in the area, Annie took the lead while I followed closely behind her.
"Why is it so quiet?" I wondered.
Annie and I reached the edge of a building and she stopped me right before we both were able to go past it. "Stop" she whispered after pointing past the wall, I leaned past her to see why it was so quiet. All the titans had gathered around the castle and were trying to bash the walls in.
"There's no way in..." I whispered to her.
"The Titans have all the entrances on this side covered. Let's presume all the entrances on the other sides are covered too." I continued.
"So now what? We'll just sit here and enjoy the clouds?" She asked.
"Oh yeah no, I'll just go and politely ask them to move." I responded.
The ground started shaking again.
"Shit, is this the colossal or armoured titan coming back?" I wondered.
Blam!
A Titan just sucked punched the shit outta another one. "What the fuck?" Annie almost yelled.
"This one looks weird..." I said. It had a sharp face unlike other titans who had a more round shape, this titans physique was also different, he was ripped to hell while all the other titans look like your average Joe. For some reason this titan wasn't interested in everyone in the castle, it was too busy team killing. I looked at Annie who had a relaxed look on her face, almost like this wasn't weird for her.
"Well I guess we have our way in." She said looking back at me.
"This one should keep them busy long enough for me and you to sneak in." She said starting to move towards the castle.
The other titans hard began to attack this... abnormal? Titan, like it recognised that it wasn't one of them. The Abnormal one was doing fine until they began to gang up on him, at this point ripping on of his arms off.
Annie and I sprinted to the door and Annie and I shoulder charged it and it slammed open.
"Let's go!" She yelled as the other titans had noticed us and started moving towards us. I took one final look at the titan and it had been defeated now, and something was coming out of its nape. Was that a person? It looks like it. No way? Is that... Eren?
