"Good morning juniors, I hope you are all packed and ready for today, right now, you will need to give us your measurements so we can order your new jackets and make it official." He explained there was a book that he took out and left on the table with a quill. "Please write your name and last name as well as your size in the book." He explained. Two giggles came from the back of the crowd. Everyone turned around to face him. "Seriously dude, how old are you, 12?" A voice asked. "12 inches deep in your-" one of the voices came before one of the female officers slapped him across the face. "Why was he laughing?" Annie asked me. "Oh you sweet innocent angel... when you're an adult I'll sit you down for a beer and explain everything." I whispered back. "As I was saying, once you're done writing, you will be assigned a mentor for the week as to get each and every one of you inducted into how things work in the Military Police.lHe explained.

We all lined up into single file and wrote our names down. There were a bunch of officers standing around waiting for us calling names. "Cian Brian?" One called. "Penelope Fring?" Another called. In all the commotion I was called out. "Uhh, Y/N Ackerman?" One of the women on the right called out. I walked over to her. "Hey." I said. "Good morning, come with me please." She said gesturing me away. "What's on the agenda for today?" I asked. "First, we have to check out the east quadrant of the wall, there's been a lot of organised crime in that area this past week. Most of your people back there are joining us." She explained I looked behind me to see Jason with his Mentor too. I slowed down trying to let the other two catch up but this lady grabbed my shirt and made me keep her pace. "We aren't slowing down, I'm not letting you prevent me from getting this promotion." She explained.

After about 40 minutes of straight walking we eventually got there. "Wasn't the MP all about sleeping all day and frat boy parties at night?" I thought to myself. "So what are we doing now ?" I asked. "Now, we're sitting and watching, sorry kid but that's half the job." She said. "Tell you what, here you go." She said reaching into her bag and passing me a sandwich. "Uhh." I said before she cut me off. "It's a pimento sandwich, we're going to be here for a while kid, eat something." She explained. "Thank you but no, I'm not hungry." I said. "Suit yourself" she said taking a bite of the sandwich. I looked over to see a weird guy that seemed to be arguing with the demons in his head, the lady looked over and saw him too. "Lucky you, that's who me and you are looking for." She said packing up a bag. "Behind me Y/N, and take your jacket off, leave it here." She said taking her jacket off. We followed him to what looked like a normal house. "That's where they're staying." She said to herself. "What?" I asked. "Nothing, right now Y/N, we're moving into that house right there and looking through the window until something happens." She whispered, leading me to one of the doors, she tried to open it but it was locked, go look around the other side of the building, warehouses like these always have two or more entrances at the opposite sides of the buildings, for safety reasons." She explained. I snuck around to the other side of the building trying to look for an entrance when I heard footsteps behind me. Before I could react my face was slammed against the wall and I had handcuffs being slammed on me. "Wait wait, I said trying to focus on what just happened. "Wait Keith, I know him." A voice that sounded familiar. The person turned me over to look at me, I was still seeing triple so I had no idea what was going on. "Oh crap, Y/N. Are you alright?" She asked. "Here let me help you." She said unclipping the handcuffs and taking a look at my face. "Hitch what the hell is this?" A man asked. "This is one of the new Juniors, his names Y/N." She said, she started rubbing the blood away from my nose. "Ah jeez, Annie is going to kill you Keith." She said trying to make me look as pretty as I usually do. "I'm doing my job. Now Y/N was it? What are you doing here without your Mentor?" He asked. I gained my ability to think again and asked "Sorry, say that again please." "What are you doing here, where is your mentor " he asked. "She's... ugh, she's on the other side." I said trying to remember. "Stay with him, and make sure he's okay." He said walking in the direction I came from. "Hell of a first day huh." Hitch said helping me up. "I'm not paid enough for this shit." I said getting ups. "Heh, me too. Why are you here?" She asked. I'm trying to find an open for me and what ever her name is to look through this building over there. I said pointing at the next one over. "Weird, me and Keith over there are doing the same thing, what's in that building?" She asked. "I have no clue we followed some druggie to this place and that's all she's telling me." I explained. "We're following this general in the garrison regiment, apparently he shows up in this building every few weeks, stays there for a day or two the leaves." She explained. "So then we should do this together." I said with a wink. "That honestly sounds like a great idea." She said winking back. I checked to see if this door was locked and thankfully it wasn't. Hitch and I snuck into the factory. "What the hell is this?" I asked. "This sure isn't like any factory I've ever seen." Hitch responded. "Why are there cages?" Hitch asked. "These aren't cages for animals." I said. "How... how do you know?" She asked. "Look at the bottom, if it's a solid floor, it's for animal transportation, plus most animals cages are too small for most adults." I explained. "And uhm, how do know this ?" "Hm? Oh I read a lot of books." I said looking at a counter top that had some powder on it. "Oh yeah, hey what does your boy friend like? Oh he likes lifting weights. What does my boyfriend like? Oh he likes books on human trafficking." Hitch said to herself before turning to me. "Hey what's that?" She asked seeing the power as well. "I don't know, take a sniff and we'll see if it kills you, or makes you see sounds and hear colors." I said looking for a way to get onto the second floor. "So... Y/N.... How'd you.... How'd you meet Annie?" She asked trying to ease the tension. "I met her the day shiganshina was kicked in, with the other refugees." I explained. "Oh sorry, I didn't mean to dig up bad memories, it's just... you know... first day on the job and we're already coming across potential crazed human traffickers or serial killers or maybe even both." She said laughing slightly, trying to calm down. "I'm sure we'll be fine. Besides, I don't think they'd kill us, we have no real use to them." I explained "wait what?" Hitch asked sounding panicked. "Okay yeah, that sounds bad, let em rephrase, they'll definitely kill us. Because we have no use to them, which yeah, definitely not very reassuring..." I said finally finding a ladder to get to the second floor. I climbed it and helped Hitch up. "Can you see a window?"I asked. "No, not from here." She responded. "Hey, Y/N, this doesn't feel right..." Hitch said sounding anxious. "Yeah I feel the same." I responded. And by some cliche in story books someone slammed the door closed. Hitch jumped down and tried to open the door. And for some reason she didn't understand that it was locked. Slightly shook I ran over and stopped her. "Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god" she kept saying to herself. "Hitch, stop, you're only going to break the-" I said before she sent the door handle flying off the hinges and she went flying with it. "You alright?" I asked helping her up. "What do you mean am I alright? Think Y/N, you're supposed to be smart." She said. "There's no need to take this out on me." I said. "How are you so calm? We're actually going to die." She said starting to panic more. "Hitch." I said holding her shoulders trying to get her to look at me. "Hitch." I said again. Still trying to get her to look at me. "Hitch. Look at me dammit." I said shaking her. She looked at me with fear in her eyes. "Listen, we're going to be fine, if lose it, then we're definitely dead, I'm scared too, but I know if I lose it, it's over, so please breathe, take your time and collect yourself, I'm here with you, just keep that in mind." I said letting go of her shoulders. "Actually Y/N, could I get a hug?" She asked "yeah sure." I said bringing her in. We stood there for a good solid 30 seconds. "Oh god I hope Annie doesn't find out until did this." I think to myself.  "Okay... okay, I'm good. Now, think, how do we get out of here?" She asked. "I don't know... but it's an old building I'm sure there's something we can break or use to get that door open." I said. "Wait" I said "You broke the door handle off its edges right?" I asked. "Yeah, you saw me go flying." She responded grabbing the handle and handing to me. "If it's this old and this weak, we could probably break through that lock, if you were strong enough to pull the handle off the hinges with something strong enough, we could probably break the whole lock and get through the door, but the thing is... I don't know if someone's out there standing guard." I explained. "Well, I'd rather risk it than risk staying here." Hitch said. "Wait, what about those cages?" She asked. "What about them?" I asked. "Can't we like, use them to break the handle?" She asked. "Something that heavy? Would definitely break the lock, but even with our strength combined we wouldn't be able to pick that thing up, it's solid metal remember? If it was light people could probably just break it..." I explained. "But if we can get something to lift it up we can use the cages momentum to break the door." I continued. "How would we do that?" She asked. "Simple, if we could get a chain or rope, and attach it to a bar on the cage, then get like two more cages to hold its weight down we can then push the thing with enough force to eventually break the door down." I finished. "But now we need to find a rope or chain." She said. "Maybe look in the top floor, I'll look in the bottom." I said.
I looked around for a while but I couldn't find anything that could hold the weight of this cage, but I did manage to move two cages to face the door. "Uhm, Y/N. Come here please." Hitch called from the top level. I wondered what was wrong since this is the first time Hitch has ever used her manners. I got up and saw what she had found. It looked like a torture lock. There was a chain lock for someone's neck and two for there arms and legs. Not to mention all the dried blood on the ground. "I found this behind a few crates... Y/N. We need to get out of here. Hitch said. I looked at her and nodded. The chains were definitely long and strong enough to support the crates, but the next problem was... how do we get these things off the wall. "We need something heavy again, we can attach the chains to what ever and maybe break the floor, that way hopefully the chains will break from the wall." I said. Hitch and I managed to move two crates again over to just under the chains. "Now all we need to do is break the floor board." I said. "What if we wet it? Getting wood wet ruins it, and by the looks of this isn't very strong, what if we kick it after it's wet?" She asked. "Do you have water ?" I asked. Hitch shook her head. "Thought so, the only thing we have other thing we can use other than that is puke..." I explained. "Oh god, and if we puke there..." "then we'll have to sit down and hope the puke doesn't drop down on us." I said finishing her sentence . "Let's.. uh, let's try kicking the floor board down first." She said Hitch and I both climbed onto the top and tried kicking the floor but to no avail. "Let- Let's try again." She said we tried kicking floor in and it broke a little but not enough. I looked over at Hitch and asked her. "So is it going to be you or me?" I asked. "Rock, Paper Scissors?"

"I can't believe I actually thought this up..." Hitch said long down at me. "You'll be fine. Just try to puke all over then we'll wait for it to seep into the wood." I explained looking up at her. "Why can't you kick it as I throw up?" She asked. "Because I don't want to be caught in the cross fire." I explained. "How should I do this? Do I put my finger in my mouth or what?" She asked. "Do what ever makes you throw up the fastest." I said to her. Hitch crouched over and shoved her finger down her throat and eventually hurled. "Ew." I said listening to her throw up. She coughed and went back down. "How long do we need to wait?" She asked.
"About 5 minutes I'd say." I said trying not to look at where I'd have to lay against in 5 minutes.

"Alright, now kick." I said. And with a strong kick we managed to break the floor board and grab the chains. We pulled them around the cage we layed on and climbed down. "Help me push this off, but away from the chains." I explained. Hitch and I shoulder bashed the thing over and it pulled the chains off the wall, and almost took the wall with it. We then hooked the chains to the one cage and the other side over a wooden pillar close to another pillar to keep the weight up. I attached the other side to the bottom cage and kept a piece of cloth to keep it in place. "You ready?" She asked. "Yeah." We moved over to the elevated cage and started to swing it, it gained enough momentum to almost bring the pillars down. And with one final swing we sent the cage flying towards the door and it destroyed the door itself, and removing the need to break the lock. We sprinted out and to our surprise it hit someone. "Oh my God Y/N." She said looking down at the guy. His head was bleeding snd his arm looked to be broken. "Forget him. I'm out." I said sprinting away. Hitch took one look at me and back at him and ran fast enough to catch up. Hitch and I sprinted I sprinted all the way back to the barracks and didn't stop until we got there. Upon getting there Hitch and I were so breathless and with all the adrenaline pumping in our veins finally wearing off, we both ending up puking, again. There was a man standing with Captain Dorie. They both turned to look at us. "Hitch Dreyse and Y/N Ackerman I presume?" The man asked. "Yeah..." we both said breathing heavily. "Thank god you two are okay..." Captain Dorie said with relief in his voice. "Why what's wrong?" She asked.  The man looked at us and said " Dreyse, Ackerman... The people you two went with today... aren't Military Police."
