What Will Become Of Us?

The next morning everyone was awoken by Keith banging on the door to our dorm.
"Wake up maggots! Be ready to go in 15!" He shouted.
I got up with a groan and a hatred for life itself for the next few minutes. I stretched before taking the blanket off me and jumping off of the bunk bed and stretching my legs again. I took my clothes for the day and got changed into it and grabbed my tooth brush and toothpaste before making it to the bathroom, I brushed my hair into my usual style before spending the next 8 minutes brushing my teeth. "So, you and Annie yesterday, huh" Reiner said nudging me.  At this point I was brushing my tongue and Reiner pushed the tooth brush a little too deep into my throat.
I violently chocked on the toothbrush and pushed it out of my mouth. "And now?" I asked through coughs.
"Oh sorry Y/N, I didn't see you brushing your teeth. I was asking what happened between you and Annie yesterday." He said nudging me once more.
My face turned slightly red before saying "You won't get anything out of me, try ask Annie." I shrugged before putting more toothpaste onto my brush and went back to brushing.

I just managed to get there with 1 minute to spare. I stood in the third row before noticing someone moved next to me. I looked over to my right and noticed Annie standing next to me. "What?" She asked. "Sorry, didn't see you down there." I joked. "I hope Shadis picks you first for what ever we're doing Y/N." Annie whispered before looking forward at Shadis who was about to give a speech. "Today you will test your balance. If you cannot pass this test you will be sent home. It is critical that every soldier knows how to use ODM gear." He explained before turning to two devices. "You will be tied up to these harnesses and lifted into the air for 30 seconds and then lowered. This who cannot keep their balance for 30 seconds will be sent home, understood?!" He shouted.
"Up first... Jean Kirstein and Annie Leonbart."he continued. I looked over at Annie and smiled at her. She walked forward and went to the left contraption. Two people tied her up and they did the same with Jean and lifted them. Annie hovered there without a thought in the world for 30 seconds and was eventually let down. She walked back and stood next to me, standing on my foot while she walked past me.
"Next up. Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert!" He shouted. Mikasa and Armin walked to the front and to the contraption. They tied both of them up and the exact same thing happened, except Armin struggled a bit at first but eventually got the hang of it.
This continued for the next 40 minutes or so until they called me up, they called me and someone named Mina. I walked to the front and so did she. She was about the same height as Annie but she had black hair that went into two pigtails and had a very optimistic and determined look on her face. They hooked me up to the right on and her to the left. It was relatively easy as it didn't send me flying around, Mina on the other hand seriously struggled in keeping her balance. "Keep your arms out and focus on one place on the ground" I said to her. She looked over at me and nodded, instantly it helped her a ton. She was then able to keep her balance for the few seconds we had left. They lifted me down first, then Mina, upon landing she said "Thank you, so much. I'm Mina, what's your name?" .
"Y/N, it's nice to meet you Mina, I said shaking her hand. "Next up! Conny Springer and Sasha Braus." Keith yelled. Mina and I walked back into the group. I walked back to Annie and Mina seemed to follow me back into the line. With Annie on my right and Mina on my left. Annie looked over at me with a perplexed look. I looked back down at her also with a look. "Is she your girlfriend Y/N?" Mina asked.
"Heh, he wishes." Annie said trying to hide her crimson red face. "Ah, is it now? Wasn't it you who wanted to spend time with me yesterday?" I said looked at her. Annie stomped on my foot to make me shut up. "Hehe, you two seem really cute together." Mina said with a smile.

Annie and I quickly looked forward to see Eren laying face first in the dust.
"What the hell was that?" I asked.
"He face-planted straight into the ground, looks like he could talk the talk but couldn't walk the walk." Annie said crossing her arms.
"Cadet Jager, what the hell was that?!" Keith Demanded.
"I-I don't know sir!" Eren yelled trying to get up.
"If you cannot pass this test, you will be sent home! We will continue tomorrow where you will be tested first, everyone else is dismissed!" Keith yelled. Mikasa and Armin came running towards Eren to help him out.
"Sucks to be him." Annie said wrapping her arms around one of mine.
"Shame, poor Eren." Mina said upset.
"I wish I could help him but I barely passed as is." She continued.
"Mina! We need you quickly!" A voice came.
"Oh, I'll be right there!" Mina yelled back.
"It was great meeting you two, I hope I'll see you around more." She said with a smile before running off into the crowd. "So... unexpected day off, and it seems like you just can't keep your hands off me." I said.
"Be grateful, this is the first and last time a woman other than me will ever touch you." She said moving her face closer to mine in a sadistic way. "You sure? Mina seemed pretty into me." I said moving closer with a smirk. "I can't even with you. I wanna do something." She said still holding onto my arm. "It's a hot day, and I bet the water by the lake is just right." I said .
"You pervert. You just wanna see me in a bikini."
"Nope, the more you keep on the better." I joked.
"I swear, how have I put up with you for so long." She said letting go of my arm.
"I'll be back in 5 minutes, lemme grab my things." She continued walking to her dorm and giving me wave.
"That woman confuses me and plays me for a fool like no one else alive." I said to myself.
I walked away and past Eren, Mikasa and Armin back to my dorm. I looked around to find my swimming trunks and a towel of some kind.
"Going somewhere Y/N?" Reiner asked.
"Annie wants to go swimming I said still looking around for a towel.
I finally found one, and grabbed it.
"Does my hair look okay?" I asked rushing to the bathroom to make sure it was still okay.
"Y/N, your hair looks fine, stop worrying so much." Reiner said.
"Easy fir yo to say, I bet you'd be in the same boat if you were me and going for Christa." I said looking up at him.
"How did you know... it's not important, just be calm Y/N, she's already head of heels for you." Reiner explained.
