12.00am
Agnihotri Villa

The room was cloaked in darkness, save for the soft, warm embrace of a reading lamp near Roop's bed. Roop shifted a little with the book in her hand to adjust the pillow in her lap. She extended her legs, put the pillow in her lap and and held the book over it.

Her room was dimly lit by the moonlight slipping in through glass doors of the balcony. She wore shorts and an oversized shirt, comfortably laying on the bed. Soft smile playing on her lips as she read. Her bare legs, kissed by the moon's ethereal light, taking on a luminous, porcelain glow.

The moonlight gently touching her body, creating intriguing shadows that hide and reveal, like a captivating dance.

Her eyes were glowing with a celestial radiance, mirroring the depth of the night sky, within whom, one can find the mysteries of the universe.

Her hair, cascading like strands of midnight silk, shimmering and glistening like the moonlight on a serene lake.

She looked like a goddess in the moon's tender embrace, a work of art that defies earthly comparisons, a proof to the allure of nature and the cosmos intertwined. And her whole ethereal glow was being witnessed by a man standing in her balcony, looking at her like a worshipper standing in the altar of his goddess.

As she turned a page, it rustled like a whispered secret, and the words dance before her tired eyes like fireflies in the night. Her lips parted and she shivered with a cold breeze or more like with the words and the scene unfolding in front of her eyes.

The book almost fell from her hands as she bounced at the sundden ring on her phone. She quickly set the book aside and took the phone to silent it first, not wanting to wake anyone up with its high volume. It was none other than her Mr. Malhotra. Her eyebrows thinned with confusion. She answered the call, "Hello?"

"Don't you think you should sleep, Precious?-"

She scoffed at the audacity of this man. First he calls her this late at night and then asks her why she isn't asleep yet. But before she could taunt him for that he continued,

"Rather than reading a book this late?"

Roop gasped, "How do you know that?"

"Open the door and find out."

Now she was confused as hell, "What??"

Her head snapped towards the glass door of her balcony as she heard the knocking sound. Aary stood in her balcony in all his glory. Without realising, her phone slipped from her hand landing on the bed as she stood up. She moved towards the balcony, taking in his mesmerizing appearance glowing in the moonlight.

He retreated his phone from his ear and slid it in his pocket. He was still wearing his suit from afternoon. Just without the jacket and tie. Some buttons of his shirt unfastened. He stood there like a sentinel, bathed in the lunar caress, his features softened by the delicate touch of the night.
