RIHAAN'S P.O.V
" Lay down on bed Ayushi. Stop acting up right now. " I said sternly. Because from half an hour I'm trying to convince her to get on bed so I can check her. She clearly told me that she is having pain since two days.
"I will not obey you. I am leaving now," she declared as she got up from the chair. I closed my eyes to control myself.
As she headed towards the door, I lifted her by placing my hand under her armpit and placed her on the examination table.
"How did you manage to lift me like a child? It's impossible with my fifty-five-kilogram weight," she remarked. Ignoring her nonsensical comments, I made her lie down, but once again, I had to deal with her drama.
"Would you appreciate it if your patients behaved like this with you in the future?" I inquired. She pondered for a moment before nodding her head.
"If our daughter behaves like this, then I am fine with it. And if my partner behaves like this with me, then I am fine with it too because I have never seen Dad get annoyed when I, Mom, or even Aryan put on a show in front of him during a check-up," she explained.
I sighed and placed my hand on her head.
"Ayushi, let me examine you now. Or do you want me to call your dad or my mom?" I asked, to which she pouted and quietly lifted her top.
"Good girl," I praised as I lowered her pants slightly.
"I feel strange when you do this," she mumbled. I looked at her, puzzled. Had I made her uncomfortable? But I do this all day that I have lost count. It shouldn't be a big deal. I know girls can sense intentions, but I did not touch her with any ill intentions. So why did she say that?
"Why?" I inquired.
"I feel butterflies," she whispered, I heard it but chose to ignore it as I pressed on her belly.
I felt a strange sensation when you touched the waistband of my pants. It's unusual, and I only feel this way with you. My heart races when you touch me," she murmured to herself. Little did she know, I heard everything.
I vividly recall her drunken confession. I licked my lips, reminiscing about our first kiss. Her lips were soft, and she tasted of alcohol, but I didn't mind.
"Ayushi, before we continue, I need to ask you something. We both know you have PCOD. Are you nearing your period dates?" I inquired.
She shook her head and pointed to her stomach.
Upon examining her, I furrowed my brow.
"This isn't due to your periods. Ayushi, we both know you've been anxious since you got drunk. I've known you since childhood, so I understand you," I said, twirling her hair around my finger. She sat up, nodding and clutching her stomach.
"May I rest my head on your chest?" she requested. I obliged, and I couldn't miss the smile that crossed her face.
"It's just constipation, right?" I asked. She pulled away, removing her hand from her belly.
"It's not painful. I was just putting on an act. Don't jump to conclusions," she said loudly before lying back down willingly.
"You've misdiagnosed it. I don't have that condition. My stomach hurts," she clarified. I was about to respond when the door to my office swung open. I was about to reprimand whoever entered without permission, but it turned out to be Ayushi's father.
The nurse must have informed him that his daughter was in the room, as he never entered without knocking.
"Why are you here? And why were you so nervous? You look like you're about to faint. He taught you in class, Ayushi. You may not remember him, but let me remind you. He treated your mother when she had Aryan. While your mother was recovering, you used to play in his office. He tried to keep you away, but you were so mischievous, but now you get nervous like this. " He started scolding her.
Ayushi stared at him for several minutes before turning towards the wall.
"Keep scolding me. I can't do anything about it. And yes, I don't remember destroying his cabin, but now I recall what he meant when he called me into his cabin and said, 'don't destroy this cabin.'"
"She has a stomach ache, sir," I said, a worried expression washing over his face.
"What is the date tod...
"It's not what you're thinking. Stop getting involved. Leave me alone, you're just here to scold me," she said. I don't know why she becomes rude like this sometimes.
"I'm here to take you home. What happened to your tummy? Did you eat something from outside?" he asked her, but she still kept her back turned to him. So I decided to answer on her behalf.
"Sir, her stomach is paining due to constipation. It's her old habit. Whenever she gets nervous like this, she gets this problem," I said. Her father gave me a look which says I know my daughter and turned to Ayushi. He pulled her towards himself and made her face him.
"You didn't use the washroom? Since when?"
"Dad, stop with your stupid questions. I don't want to go home. Me and Rihaan are talking," she said, receiving a stern glare from her father.
"I'm in college right now. Don't try to be my dad here. You are a doctor and a professor here, so don't forget your role," she said. And I wanted to laugh at her words. She has been like this since childhood.
"Why do you want to know the depth of water, Ayushi? Go with your dad," I said, and suddenly magic happened. She jumped down from the bed and stood beside her dad.
"You aren't going to scold me because of the viva. If you do, then I will complain to Grandma."
"First, you answer me. Why didn't you tell me about your belly pain?" he asked. They both exited my cabin, and I just kept looking at the closed door.
"I'm sure she likes me too. But when will we have something between us?"
