"So", Donghyuck's mother approached with a big smile, "Am I finally expecting a wedding?"
"Mom", Donghyuck whined, only receiving a laugh from the woman
"Still can't believe that you never told me anything about this. About you.", she said, "You're more than important to me, son. I would love to hear everything even if I have to endure your sickening rants and whines."
"You're not helping.", he deadpanned, "And besides, I know I can trust myself on this. Destiny is on my side."
"Look at you..", Mari sighs
A proud smile still dances on her lips as she held her son's hands. Mari caressed the back of his hand and her smile grew when she spotted the thin black ring engraved on his right finger.
"It looks pretty on you."
Donghyuck followed to where she is looking and chuckled, "It's prettier on Caryl."
"I still can't put my head on the fact that you are marveling on a girl."
"So you're hoping that Lee Donghyuck will gonna marry?"
"I'm begging. Gosh son, you don't know how much I want to arrange you to someone."
"Mom!"
"Yet I know you won't talk to me for forever. It didn't end bad, though. You met your mate and you're finally bonded completely."
"This ring is the last stage huh?"
"Never told you about the ring. I knew your father and I weren't mates."
The ring. It was thin like a rubber band, pitch black in color, and engraved on the mates' ring finger like a tattoo.
Donghyuck and Caryl felt a tingling feeling the moment they stepped out of Court, looking at their fingers and saw how its wonders hugged their skin. It completed the bond. They completed the bond.
The ring is the proof that one is taken and mated. Ought not to disobey the rules of destiny or dare to.
"Are you planning to live together or?"
Donghyuck grinned, "That's a great idea!"
Mari smacked his head, "You should ask her first. Don't decide on your own."
He only chuckled and nodded, "Yes, mom. Don't cry too loud though. I might be mistaken that you don't want me to marry."
"You're still a kid."
"One that you're thinking to set up to anyone?"
"Am I hearing a mother-son argue?", Caryl approach them with a light laugh
"Oh please, it's hard to raise this child. If ever he'll get bratty, just toss him to me."
"I think I can work on that, Mrs. Lee."
"Op! What did I say?", Mari squinted her eyes
Caryl chuckled, "Mama"
"That's better", she winked
"You're recruiting Caryl on your side now?", Donghyuck said
"Why, jealous?"
"You can't make her."
"I am both on your side.", Caryl said, mended their cute banters
"Oh well, I am here for the both of you. If you needed a mother's help, I'll be one call away."
"Thank you", Caryl flashed a fond smile and hugged her
Donghyuck and Caryl went home after thanking everyone for the last time. It was a warm feeling considering each other's units as home, especially Caryl's. Donghyuck is been there for multiple times now.
This time though, they agreed to go to Donghyuck's. Caryl is never been there until just now.
The ride to the demon's apartment building is closer than hers. It's considered as a twin residential building– two buildings facing towards each other and connected with a bridge.
Caryl was surely stunned on how tall and beautiful it is. It's her first time entering the place.
"I know it's amazing, but yours is huge too.", Donghyuck said in a chuckle after seeing the girl's sparkling eyes
"Can I get a tour around?"
"Darling, most of the spaces are the same, trust me. Jaemin once resided here too. Our units are pretty much the same."
"Is it just you here? How about the others?"
"Chenle's near the University. Jaemin is with Gyuri. The girls just settled in the dorms."
Caryl understandably nodded, "Why didn't you live in the same building together?"
"Oh we did, in the dorms. We got bored though and we preferred a larger space."
The elevator opened in the specific floor and Caryl marveled as they walked to his unit.
"There", Donghyuck pointed at the next door
He keyed in and let Caryl enter first. They changed into slippers and the moment Caryl passed the hallway entrance, she was enthralled by the whole space.
"It's simple yet clean and beautiful!", she exclaimed
Donghyuck chuckled and followed behind her, "Thanks. I'm glad you liked it."
Caryl faced him and pecked on his lips with an excited giggle. Donghyuck only smiled at her and placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Do you want to change? I can lend you clothes."
"Mhm I think I need a cold shower."
"You can use the one in my room. I'll just leave the clothes there."
"Sure. Thank you."
Caryl followed him to his bed room. As expected, it's also simple and organized. You can see Donghyuck's vibe in there.
Caryl loved every bit of it. Especially that his own scent is lingering around the space.
"I'll be outside, yeah? Just call me if you need anything."
This is perfect, Caryl thought. It felt like her life is really going good now. She's not unlucky anymore.
