📍Blue Lagoon| Moon San Villa, Port Antonio, Portland|
📅 Friday| July 7|
Marissa gave me a dirty look and said, "Isn't that outfit a bit much for a work trip?"
I chuckled and kept scrolling on my phone, replying, "This is a vacation, Miss Duncan. I can wear what I want as a adult."
Marissa added with a snarky tone, "People are staring at you, but I guess you enjoy the attention as you're always seeking it."
I laughed and told her, "If you're jealous, just admit it, Marissa. No need to be so mean." Then, I got up from my tanning spot and headed to the bar for a drink.
Today is a the company's annual work trip. I usually skip the work trip for this exact reason. Who can relax with Marissa's annoying comments? This time, we're in Portland at the Moon San Villa at Blue Lagoon, which is like a big house rented by the company. There are folks here from Montego Bay, Santa Cruz, and May Pen branches too, so lots of new faces around.
"Uh, can I get a frozen mango daiquiri, please?" I asked the bartender and then pulled out my phone to text Anna to find out their location. I only agreed to come on this trip because the entire group decided to visit Port Antonio and rented a big guest house very close to where I was.
"Here you go, miss," the friendly bartender said as she handed me my drink. I was about to pay with my card, as it's usually tap and go, but the lady stopped me. "The gentleman over there said to put it on his tab," she smiled.
I followed her gesture to a man sitting at the end of the bar. He was already looking at me, so I gave him a smile and silently mouthed, "Thank you," before getting up.
Nuh too waan smile up wid nuh man cause mi cyan tek nuh more 'punishment'.
I decided to take a stroll to Blue Lagoon since the beach connected directly to the villa, and it was just a short walk away. I put in my AirPods and started my journey. It took about ten minutes, and I was scanning the area to see if there was a good place for lunch. I spotted a little shack along the shore, so I headed over to check it out. There were some guys on the shore with rafts, similar to the ones you'd find in Trelawny, but I ignored them because I don't want these men touching me with their drifting hands.
