Chapter 14 Trouble at the climbing wall

Chiron starts talking again

"Once again my apologies. " Chiron says

"It's a good idea to introduce Percy to other camp activities, maybe we can find out who his godly parent is."

y/n nods.

"But I can't get out of here, they need me here, so y/n would you be so kind as to take it upon yourself to introduce Percy to our various camp activities while I continue here?" the Centaur asks to y/n.

"Of course" she says excitedly "this will be fun, come with me Percy" she says as she grabs Percy by the arm and starts dragging him along.

"where do you want to go first" she asks while still dragging Percy by his arm. Percy has to put in a lot of effort to keep up with y/n. While y/n seems to be running at this inhuman speed without any difficulty.

"Can you please go a little slower" Percy pants, stumbling over his own feet as I try to keep up with the girl with the raven black hair that reminds him so much of his own hair.

(I have two versions, 1 for long hair and 1 for short hair, so that my readers can all empathize and recognize themselves in the character as best as possible )

(Long hair version).

Only her hair is tied in a high ponytail, the tail of which she has braided tightly in a long braid that reaches approximately the hollow of her knee. A few strands of raven black hair luxuriately emerge from the tail and stand stubbornly in all directions, with a few strands also hanging from it. the front of her face framing her face and it's a little messy but that doesn't seem to bother her.

(Short hair version:)

Her hair is short and luscious, it hangs in all directions in a messy but somehow neat way with a few strands in the front that are longer on the left side of her face and a strand hanging in front of her left eye.

(If you want a different hairstyle that's fine too, just imagine her hair being whatever you want. 

(I'll probably use the long hair version when I describe her hair later, sorry about that and just imagine it's your own hairstyle).

He tries to keep up with her as best he can.

"Sure. " says the raven haired girl who immediately slows her pace so that Percy can keep up with her.

The two demigods finally arrive at the climbing wall and Percy is amazed at the size of the wall towering above them.

"We're here" y/n cheerfully says "welcome to the first activity of operation 'find Percy's Godly parent' our first stop is the climbing wall !".

"Wow, is that real lava ?!" Percy asks as he looks up at the high wall. Without waiting for an answer, he takes a step forward towards the wall, before breaking into a sprint to cover the last few meters between him and the climbing wall. Y/n laughs and runs after him, soon catching up to him.

Arriving at the wall, y/n helps Percy put on the climbing harness and attaches the safety ropes to his harness so that he does not fall to pieces if he falls.

She puts on her own harness and starts climbing, Percy following behind her.

y/n climbs to the top of the climbing wall with great ease, skilfully avoiding the lava flows as if it were nothing. However, Percy has more trouble with it, his thoughts wander to his mother and he fails to notice a lava flow in time, he was so lost in thought.

And so y/n has to save him from the lava flow that threatened to scorch him alive.

After y/n has to save Percy from an early death by a lava flow for the third time, she decides that they had enough climbing for today. 

Once they have both feet on the ground again, Percy apologizes for not being there with his thoughts. 

y/n sees the pained look in Percy's eyes, it reminds her of her own look the day after Thalia's sacrifice she saw every time in the mirror, or the surface of the lake where she spent a lot of time that first day

That was before she saw Annabeth crying and she decided that she had to put her feeling away and she had to help and comfort Annabeth. 

y/n had never learned to properly manage her own emotions, so she always hid her feelings as far away as possible so that no one had to see them. She dealt with her emotions by training even more, and even harder. It wasn't the best most healthy way to bottle up her emotions like that but it worked and that was what mattered to y/n. 

And this way she could be there for others who were also having a hard time, she always put others' feelings before her own. She also often had to deal with campers who had lost someone. So she knew this look and she immediately makes a connection with his mental absence and the recent loss of his mother. 

y/n assures him that it's no big deal and that he did a good job for a first time. This seems to cheer Percy up and he gets ready to climb the wall again but y/n stops him,

"Let's do something different. What do you think about if we go to the forges, I have some things to do and prepare there anyway and then we can immediately see if you are perhaps a child of Hephaestus. ''

Percy nods excitedly, his sadness for his mother overcome by his curiosity about what y/n meant when she said she had to prepare something

"What do you mean by preparing, what do you need to prepare, can I help you?" Percy asks excitedly.

y/n laughs at his enthusiastic outburst.

"You'll see"

They leave the climbing wall and walk to the blacksmiths. Along the way they meet Elisabeth di Angelo and Maria Grace.

"hey where are you going?" Elisabeth asks enthusiastically and puts an arm on y/n's shoulder.

"To the blacksmiths" y/n answers with just as much enthusiasm

"Cool, have you already found out who his godly parent is or are you going to find out now?" asks Maria, who puts her arm over y/n's other shoulder on the other side of where Elisabeth is standing, while she points to Percy.

"No, we don't know who it is yet, so yes, we are going to go through everything now."

"By the way, I haven't introduced you yet. Percy, these are Maria and Elisabeth my best friends," she points from Percy to both sides of her where the 2 girls are still hanging on her shoulders

"Maria and Elisabeth, this is Percy the new demigod," she says mentioning in Percy's direction.

"nice to meet you'' the daughter of Hades and the daughter of Zeus say at the same time.

" yeah nice to meet you too'' Percy says to the two.

"By the way, who are you Godly Parents if I may ask?" Percy asks curiously.

"Oh of course you may ask, the Godly Parent of this ray of sunshine is Hades god of the underworld, and my Godly Parent is Zeus the supreme god and ruler of Olympus, god of the sky, the biggest bastard and the worst father a demigod can imagine. could wish for,'' says Maria, 

Somewhere in the distance they hear lightning rumbling.

"Morning Dad" she calls to the sky.

y/n laughs at the reckless and rude behavior that is so characteristic of Maria and one of the reasons is that she loves her friend so much that she doesn't give a single shit about the fact that she just insulted the supreme god.
