"Damien, what are you doing here?" Kassandra asked as they entered the room.
Damien looked around the room and whistled. "Nice room they set you on. Must be an important case." He grabbed her and tried to kiss her. She moved away from him.
"Answer me? And what is this about you tracking my cell phone? Who does that?"
"I do. Robert was all suspicious when I went over there and then you were so vague over the phone. Who is that guy? Really."
"He told you, he's a client."
He grabbed her arms and shook her. "Kassandra, I'm not stupid. Tell me the truth."
"Let go of me, you're hurting me." She pulled away from him and walked to the other side of the room.
"Don't walk away from me!" He yelled.
There was a knock on the door and it flew open. "Is there a problem, miss?" Mariano asked.
"Excuse me, how dare you just open the door without waiting on a response?" Damien asked, walking towards the door. "Going to have a talk with your boss about this."
"Mariano, thank you. Everything is okay." Kassandra reassured him.
"Okay, if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask, I'll be right outside the door." Mariano said, looking one more time at Damien and then closing the door.
"Who does he think he is opening the door like that?"
"Damien, this is their house, I'm just a guest. They can do what they want." She said rubbing her temple. "I think you should go."
"I just got here. I'm spending time with you."
"You seem to forget I asked you for a break not even a week ago. You are overcrowding me, Damien. I need time to think."
"To think about what? I asked you to marry me, just a yes or no. Not running away to God knows where."
"I'm sorry, but I'm not ready to answer. Respect my wishes and give me a break. That means no calls and not seeing you. When I'm ready to give you an answer I'll call you."
"Sorry, but I'm not leaving until you leave this place. It doesn't feel right. You were alone in that room with that guy. He looked at you like you were his property. Is something going on with you two?"
"No, Damien. There's nothing going on between me and German."
"German? German Rios? Are you serious? That's Rogelio's father!" He said pointing at the door. "You ran back into his arms!"
"Shut up, Damien. No one knows that I have a kid with him. And I plan to keep it that way."
"So, what are you doing here then?"
"He said we had something to discuss. We were in the middle of it when you barged in. So, please, leave, so I can finish up with him and I can go back home."
"No, I'm staying. After everything you told me about him, I don't trust him. He might try to get you back and you said he was dangerous."
"Damien, he's not getting me back. He's married."
"I don't care, I'm staying." He said laying on the bed.
"What do you know about him?" German asked Mariano before dinner.
"They haven't found anything on him. All they know is that they met at law school two years ago and started dating. But there's no record of him ever attending school. And I heard them arguing in the room earlier. She said he was hurting him."
"Okay, just keep an eye on them." German said and walked into the dining room. Kassandra was sitting at his right with Damien sitting next to her.
"We have another unexpected guest?" Anya asked entering the room. "Who is this?"
"I'm Damien Thorpe, Kassandra's boyfriend."
"Kassandra's boyfriend? Did you hear that, dear? She has a boyfriend." Anya asked German, laughing.
"I apologize for my wife, Mister Thorpe, she doesn't have any manners." German said.
"No worries, she seems to be a delight." Damien said, grabbing Kassandra's hand. German stared at them and Kassandra quickly pulled her hand away without noticing German's stare.
"And what are you doing here, Damien?" Anya asked.
"I came to keep Kassandra company. Can't keep my hands off her." He said caressing her cheek as she flinched.
"That is so sweet. Kassandra, why did you keep this one away?" Anya asked.
"She's shy." Damien said.
"Are we waiting for any other unexpected guests or can we have dinner?" German asked furiously.
"What your temper, son. People might think things." Renata said.
"You can serve dinner." Anya told the staff as they started moving around the table serving the food. "So, Damien. What do you do?"
"I'm between jobs at the moment. Waiting to pass the bar exam."
"Oh, you're a lawyer?"
"Just like my lovely girl over here. Hope to pass the bar soon so I can get a nice cozy job as the one she has."
"You're a lawyer?" German asked her. "So, you did finish school."
"Yes, I did. I went back to school as soon as I left here." Kassandra said.
"Congratulations. I'm glad." German said.
"So, German, what do you want with my girl?"
"Damien, stop!" Kassandra said.
"No, I need to know what he really wants now that I know who he really is."
"It is none of your business, that is between Kass and I."
"That is funny that you think that way, but whatever you have to say to my future wife, you can say to me." Damien said standing up.
"Damien, enough!" Kassandra said. Damien slapped her. German lunged at him and they fought on the floor.
"Haven't you caused enough trouble already?" Renata yelled at her while she held her cheek in shock. Mariano walked in and tried pulling them apart. German kept punching Damien until he could barely move.
"Take him out of here!" German told Mariano. He turned back to Kassandra, pulled her hand off her cheek and inspected it. "Are you okay?"
She pushed him away slowly. And met Anya's stare. "Yes, you shouldn't have done that. Excuse me." She ran out of the room.
"Are you serious, German? What was that?" Anya asked.
"He slapped her, you all saw that! Nobody deserves to be treated that way." German said, rubbing his knuckles.
"You just defended your ex in front of your wife, German. How do you think that looks?" Renata said.
"I would've done that for anyone. Now, dinner seems to be over. I have work to do." He left them standing there.
