Chapter 15

The next day German was in his study working when the door flew open. "Sir!" Mariano said bursting into the study interrupting German.

"What is it, Mariano?"

"My guys found something out about Mister Thorpe."

"What is it?"

"He was working for Mister Mendoza. That's why we couldn't find anything about him." He said, handing him a bunch of pictures.

"What? Carlo had one of his men date her? For what reason?"

"Probably just to keep tabs on her."

"Where is he now?"

"I have men looking for him, right now."

"Can you please bring her?"

"Yes, sir, right away." Mariano left the study to get Kassandra. A few minutes later the door opened and Kassandra walked in.

"Thank you, Mariano. And please, find him, fast." German said as Kassandra sat down.

"I guess we can finally talk." Kassandra said.

"First, I have some bad news. I was just informed of it."

"What is it?"

"Is about your boyfriend, Mister Thorpe."

"As of last night he stopped being that." She scoffed.

"Kass, he was working for Carlo."

"What? No he wasn't, German. I know you didn't like him, but you don't have to lie about it."

German grabbed the pictures and handed them to her. "I have no reason to lie." She looked at the pictures and saw Damien getting money from Carlo and in other pictures meeting him in different places.

"Why? Why would Carlo do this?" She started crying. "I let him close to... I let him get close to me. I feel violated, German. Carlo said that if I went away, he would leave me alone. Why did he do this?"

"I don't know, Kass." He said holding her and hugging her tight.

"Where is that bastard?"

"I have my men looking for him."

"Oh my God!"

"What? What is it?" He asked as she pushed him softly.

"I have to go, German. I have to go call Robert, let him know!"

"Calm down, I can't let you go with him on the loose. Go ahead and call Robert, you can let him know, he can come here if he wants too."

"German, please, you don't understand. I have to go home."

"Help me understand then."

"I can't."

"Then you're not going anywhere. Mariano!" German called.

"Yes, sir."

"Take Kass back to her room, and make sure she stays there."

"German, no! Please, I beg you to let me go." She cried as Mariano pulled her out of the room.

A few minutes later Mariano came back. "I have one of the men outside her door, they have strict orders that only you can call for her, and to not let anybody else in."

"What is so important for her back home that she wants to go back so bad? Did you see anything weird at her place when you went to get her?"

"You should keep asking her sir, she might break and tell you. Is there anything else you need, sir?"
