WHEN LEAH WOKE up, the memories of the previous day's events came flooding back to her. it was 9 in the morning, approximately 12 hours after she had pushed hotch out of the way of porter's bullet. she hated being under anesthesia, and whenever it was objected into her system, she always passed out and didn't wake up until the drug was completely out of her system.

she woke up in little pain though, thankfully. she was okay, and very lucky that the bullet had only grazed her arm slightly, and the wound was easily treated to.

she looked around the room, gaining awareness of her surroundings, not expected to see the man that had arrested her to be sat in the chair by her bed.

"hey?" she said to him, almost as a question as she was shocked he was there.

he looked up at her and stood up, walking over to the bed. "hey," he said gently. "you're finally awake. how are you doing?"

the second he finished his question, aaron hotchner walked in. "oh, hi leah. feeling better?"

"yeah, i'm good," she responded.

"really?" hotch began to joke. "because you took a bullet for me, leah. you may be fine physically, but are you insane? i know people say 'i'd take a bullet for you' but they don't mean it literally."

"oh, shut up aaron. i would've taken a bullet for you any day." all he did was sigh, and walk away from her bedside while running a hand through his hair.

she then looked at the other man who stood by her bedside. "derek morgan, right?"

"yeah. good memory, kid." she raised her hand up, which he took and shook it firmly. "the one who broke my door." he looked down and smiled sheepishly. "yeah, sorry about that."

she shook her head with a smile on her face. "don't sweat it. you'll find some way to make it up to me." "is that right?"

before leah could respond to his flirtatious comment, another man walked into the room, and she knew it was spencer reid, asking if she was okay. and once she realized that now 3 fbi agents stood in her hospital room, even hours after being in the hospital and having the choice to go home, she wondered why they stayed.
