THE FIRST CASE came to it's end nine days after her first day. it only took 2 days to solve, thank god, and no one else had gotten hurt before they caught the guy. it was june 2nd now, of the year 2013. the team sat in their seats as they flew back to quantico from michigan, successful in solving yet another case. leah thought she would be exhausted on the flight back home, considering it was pretty late now, almost 30 minutes to midnight and they had been up all day working. however, she surprisingly couldn't fall asleep. she looked around, concluding that everyone else had fallen asleep, and then took her earphones out and plugged them into her mp3 player, playing her favorite song, "teenage dirtbag" by wheatus.

she began to hum along quietly, not wanting to wake anyone up. after about a minute into the song, she felt someone tap her shoulder. she jumped, she thought everyone was sleeping. she turned her head quickly to reveal the culprit was spencer reid. she sighed in relief, removing her earphones from her ears. "oh, i'm sorry!" he saw her fear. "are you okay? i didn't mean to frighten you."

leah just took at deep breath and nodded her head. "hey."

"hi," he replied, taking the seat next to her. "sorry again for scaring you, we're just the only people up." "yeah, i thought i was the only one." "i just couldn't get comfortable."

she looked in spencer's hands to see he had a book in them. "what're you reading?" spencer looked down at the book. "oh, it's the collector by john fowles." "cool, what's it about?" "a psycho who kidnapped an art student and holds her captive in a basement. what were you listening to?" spencer changed the subject, more interested in what she was doing.

"oh, my favorite song, actually, 'teenage dirtbag.'" "nice, who sings that?"

leah shook her head in shock at him. "you-you don't know this song?" "i can't say i'm acquainted."

"seriously! it's such a good song! well, at least i think so. it's not the best by far but it's still great. but to answer your question, it's by the band 'wheatus.'" "mind if i listen too?"

leah looked at him. "oh, um, yeah, sure!" she handed him one of her earphones which he places in his ear, as leah restarted the song from the beginning. leah mumbled along quietly to the lyrics as they began, "her name is noelle..." as soon as spencer heard her, although just barely, he looked at her and a smile displayed on his face. he laughed a bit as she kept singing, creating super dramatic rock n roll motions with her arms until the song ended. spencer removed the earphone from his ear. "you actually like this type of music?"

"you didn't like it?" "not really, no." "well, what kind of music does doctor spencer reid listen to then?" "mozart." "boring. well, i don't just listen to that music. i listen to a bunch."

she picked her mp3 player up and began scrolling through it. "let's see, uh... 'falling in love at a coffee shop' by landon pigg, great song... 'harness your hopes' by pavement, you'd definitely like that, they use some fun word definitions... oh! 'telephone' by beyonce and lady gaga, 'she lives in my lap' by outkast... oh my god, how could i forget 'innocent' by taylor swift?"

the two ended up playing 20 questions, just trying to pass time. "you're more interesting than i thought you would be, doctor."

"as are you, agent."

she smiled at him. she now sat cross legged in the seat uncomfortable, since she was shifted sideways to face him directly. he smiled back at her. leah laid her head against the chair, finally feeling tired, beginning to doze off. she thought she could get a bit more sleep in before the flight ended. when they took off, they had 1 hour and 30 minutes left, and she had only been talking to spencer for-

leah abruptly jolted upwards. the plane was landing. she looked out of the window she was sitting next to, then looked back at spencer. "we're landing already?" "i...guess we are." she could tell he was just as shocked as she was. "i thought we've only been talking for like, what, 30 minutes?" "well, if you add..." he looked at his watch, "42 minutes to that, you'd be right."

"huh," leah looked at the window again. "well, doctor, i actually really enjoyed talking with you tonight." "would you please stop calling me doctor?" "say that again, doctor?" she laughed at herself, and at spencer's defeated expression. "well," he went one, "i had fun tonight too, agent. we should do it again sometime." "sure, can't wait till our next plane ride." leah winked at him, standing up from her seat, grabbing her bag and rushing up to derek morgan, who was her ride home.

"have fun, you two?" he teased. "oh, hush, take me home."

spencer was still seated when they walked off the plane, only one question relaying in his mind: what were they?
