A Wedding and the Temptation Of Sin....

Wei Ying stood in the corner, fanning his face. His yellow buttoned coat clung to his perspiring body.

It was a hot summer day. And Wei Ying couldn't believe that Carmen had asked him of all people to stand with her.

Carmen had called Wei Ying at the dress shop a few days earlier and explained she wanted him to be that special person who helped her son regain his life.

Wei Ying couldn't say no to Carmen. Besides, he had always loved her company. She was an elegant and kind woman, and Wei Ying respected her.

The wedding was simple to everyone's surprise. Carmen only invited very few people who were important in her life. Lan Wangji had even offered to pay for Carmen's extravagant wedding. She denied wanting one. She had no interest in a flashy wedding. She had done that with his father. She refused to go that path again to show off for people that she didn't care about. Instead, she was given an elaborate honeymoon to Italy by her son.

Carmen's mother, Lois, agreed to stay for two weeks with Lan Wangji and Wen Qing, while her daughter and her new son in law went on their honeymoon.

"Yellow like a canary." Wen Qing chuckled with a burp as she pointed to Wei Ying's dress.

The coat was actually a pale yellow and was very elegant. Carmen did a good job picking out a dress to fit Wei Ying's beautiful figure. Lan Zhan and Wei Ying both looked even more attractive as they walked linked arm in arm to the arch in Chengjin Park. They had a few people awing at them.

Liu was busy pouting angrily. However, Carmen stole the show in her beautiful wedding gown.

"You're too young to drink." Wei Ying sighed out in exasperation. He realised that it sounded hypocritical, considering that he had taken in alcohol on more than one occasion. Although He no longer frequented that type of scene with teenagers. He had changed for good now. It was very odd that Wei Ying didn't miss that at all. His new church friends were much more interesting to hang around. Wei Ying could be himself more around them, without being stressing himself to prove in front his so-called friends."

" The Mayor Mr. Kuang is here. Be careful he doesn't catch you." He whispered to Anna.

Mr. Kuang was the only one of the Kuangs that Carmen invited. Tess was no longer considered a friend due to the bad blood among their families years earlier, and Liu seemed to cause Lan Zhan more depression when she was around.

Nuan came despite Tess's and Liu's protest. Finally, Nuan asked Carmen if he could bring Liu along as his guest. Reluctantly, Carmen caved to his request because she had hoped Wangji would get to spend time with Wei Ying, and they could sort out their differences. Carmen knew she was being selfish for her son, but she also knew there's no one who would love Wei Ying as intensely as Wangji.

Carmen never saw her son smile genuinely since Wei Ying, and he broke up.

"So what. Kuang doesn't scare me. I'm hot. Let's go skinny dipping in Crater Lake and blow this popsicle joint." Anna laughed.
