Goner Is Right

*CARTER'S P.O.V.*

I walk out of the room and Fury leaves.

"Hey." I say to the people in the room.

"Hi, what were you taking about?" Clint asks.

"Business stuff..." I lie. I can't tell them.

"Oh." Bruce says.

"Yeah, well... I'm going to finish my sandwich." I say walking away.

"Wait. Do you have something you want to tell us?" Natasha asks.

"Umm, nope." I lie. I start eating my sandwich again.

"We know." Steve says. Oh, shit.

"Know what?" I ask, pretending I don't know.

"Your secret." Natasha says.

"I won't fall for whatever you're trying to convince me to say. I am unable to be convinced. Try me. Lets see if that works." I say sitting in my chair. She pulls a chair out in front of me.

"Who's your mother?" Natasha asks.

"Stacey Reece Mc'Cottney." I say without looking from her eyes.

"No, your biological mother." Natasha leans in closer. Everyone is watching us.

"I don't know." She nods.

"Who's your father?"

"Mike James Mc'Cottney." I simply say.

"And again. Your biological father?"

"I-" Then I am cut off. A box breaks a window when it flys in. I open the box. It's counting down. It's a bomb. "It's gonna blow! AVICS, SUIT!" I motion with my hands, and then I remember the thrusters don't work. "Shit!"

I'm going to have to work with out the thrusters. My suit forms around me and I'm all suited up. I know exactly where I'm going to go. I grab the bomb in my arms and use my hand repulsors to keep me up and flying. My thrusters sputter a few times helping me along, but they don't work.

"AVICS, keep me up in the air." I look at the bomb. I'm running out of time.

"Yes, Miss. Mc'Cottney." I fly out and over the ocean. The suit isn't fully water proof, but I've been working on it. I just need to get the bomb in there and get out. I fly down to the water, the bomb in my hand. One minute left.

Once I find a good place I see a boat. It's to close. Forty-six seconds left. I get out of the water and fly farther away from land. I go back in and I find a place for the bomb. Now, I wouldn't go through this much trouble for a bomb, but it's a very large one.

Thirty-five seconds. Then I feel water seeping into the suit. I'm too far down into the water. I can't use my hand repulsors to get me out anymore. I could have gotten out of I wasn't as deep, and if I hand my thrusters I could get out now.

"Ma'am, suits power is low."

"AVICS?" I ask getting worried. My suit does one last thing before the suit goes off. Water floods it and I start trying to swim to the surface. I can't find the button on the side of my head!

Then I involuntary draw in a breath, but water reaches my airway. I start to cough, and then I am grabbed and I am pulled out of the water.

*TONY'S P.O.V.*

I'm working on a suit when I hear yelling. I go to the kitchen and see everyone yelling out the window.

"What's going on?" I ask and everybody turns around to look at me.

"She's a goner!" Clint yells.

"There was a bomb!" Steve yells.

"We have to get her!" Bucky yells at the same time Steve does.

"Go get her!" Natasha yells at me. I just look at Bruce who is pacing the room. I suit up and dart out the window. I see Carter far up ahead. I try to speed up to her but she is way faster. I see her go under the water and then come back up. Then after a little while she goes back in.

She should be out by now. If the bombs about to go- her thrusters! She's too deep. I fly down into the water to see her in her suit floating there. I scoop her up and fly out of there as fast as I can. I look behind me and the bomb goes off. Water splashes everywhere. Huge waves surface the water.

I fly her back to the tower and through the window again. I put her on the floor and push the button on her mask. The suit unfolds and she is soaked. She continues coughing like crazy and the team runs up. Bucky sits next to her and I get up. I walk away in my suit and down to the work shop.

*CARTER'S P.O.V.*

My suit unfolds and I don't open my eyes. I keep coughing until I get all the water out of me. My hair, clothes and my whole body is full of water and wet. I see Bucky next to me and I reach my hands around his neck, catching him off guard. I pull him into a hug. I can feel his smile.

I am breathing heavily and trying to catch my breath.

AVICS must have known it was an emergency because Jace barges in through the door. She was set that so if it was an emergency she would call Jace and she would give him my location. That was the last thing she did.

He see's me and Bucky hugging and he runs over to me. He shoves Bucky away and wraps his arms around me.

"Jace." I whisper into his ear.

"What happened?" He questions looking around.

"I-I don't know." I see the box it came in and it says KNEEL. "I don't know."
