part 14, more then just red faces

As I wake up, I find that the guy left. I look around to see that Sky and Ace are still asleep in the same truck hugging up to each other. I guess that it did get cold last night so they probably did that to stay warm. I look around and I see a note. “Sorry I couldn't stay awhile, need to do things on my own –Bob.” I take the note and put it into my backpack. As I'm getting a few cans of beans from Sky’s backpack that she left near me I hear someone say “umm, helped?” I look around to see a leg sticking out of the bed of the truck that they are in. I as I’m getting closer I see that it’s Ace’s leg and he’s turning red from how hard he’s blushing. I look at him and just smile. He looks at me with a mad expression and just goes back laying down while Sky’s hugging him. I pull out the can of beans and look at Ace with a devilish smile. He slowly shakes his head while I nod mine. I open the beans and the sound from the can wakes up Sky. She slowly opens her eyes and sees Ace. He is just lying there in shock. After a second Sky jumps up and out of the truck bed and falls on the ground. I put the beans down as I'm trying to help Sky up. As I help her up, she quickly falls back down. Ace at this point is out of the truck bed and helps her up and holds her up. They both look at each other and blush. “Can you put weight on your leg?” I ask, trying to see if she's alright. She tries to stand on it and then lifts it back up and shakes her head. She looks at Ace and asks if he can carry her. I try and offer to but Ace lifts her up onto his back. As I watch Ace lift her up, Sky starts to blush as she leans on him in comfort. “You know we still have to eat, right?” I say pulling out caned beans. Ace blushes a little and sets her down on the ground. I hand the cans to Ace and he opens one of them and gives it to Sky. As we are sitting next to the burned-out fire Ace pulls out the map and hands it to me. He shows me where we are and where we have to go. After we finish up eating, we start to get back on the road with Sky on Ace’s back. As we are walking Sky starts to doze off into sleep. When Ace notices that she’s asleep Ace start a conversation. “so, Thomas, who are you looking for?” he asks in a whisper. I look at him as I think if I should tell him or not. “he’s a close friend of mine, his name is Logan.” I whisper back. He ponders for a minute and then says “I think I’ve heard of his name before, he's a gentle giant from what I’ve heard.” I smile knowing that he’s talking about the same Logan. As we finish talking, we start to see the city we have to go through to get the New Capital. As we start to get closer, we start seeing people in red robes and demonic mask.
