"Shit, shit, shit..." Mix threw the gym bag away, squatted behind Joe, and carefully pulled him back to the club as much as he could, to keep both of them hidden in case the shooting wasn't over.

Things were getting out of hand. And it was all his fault! First Earth and now this. Oh god, oh god, Joe's blood was all over Mix's hands. He was unconscious. Mix badly hoped that Joe was only unconscious. He couldn't let Joe die. No. Not because of him. He heard Narong running up to him, "what happened? What happened, Mix?"

"Take a guess!" Mix groaned, trying to get a phone out of his back pocket. His fingers were slippery, making his phone slip out of his hand many times before he finally got a firm grip on it.

"I'm calling the ambulance."

"Mix!" Narong said, his voice cold.

"It's the same I called for Earth."

"Fine," Narong reluctantly nodded.

"Just press your hands here," Mix cocked his head towards a small hole in Joe's abdomen. Looking at Joe now, no one would ever guess that his t-shirt was white before.

Mix's hand was shaking as he was holding his phone close to his ear. The phone rang twice and then Mix spoke before the person on the other side could say anything, "I need you."

"The club?"

"Yeah."

"Be there in ten."

"Can you make it sooner? There's a lot of blood."

"I'll do my best."

"Mix, I can't keep helping you like this all the time. Sooner or later people will start asking. I'm risking my job here."

Mix nodded, taking a sip of a quite disgustingly tasting coffee from the plastic cup and looked at his friend, "I know and I'm sorry, Pond, But I had to get Earth and now Joe to the hospital and I couldn't just call an ambulance directly—they would have too many questions. Maybe even call the police. Earth doesn't want people asking questions."

"You know that explaining to doctors here that I was just driving around and I picked a random injured man to bring to the hospital—twice—in two weeks doesn't sound believable at all either, right?"

"I know, I know, okay? I promise that next time I won't call you."

"And let whoever it is gonna be next time to die?"

"So what do you want from me then?" Mix groaned, closing his eyes in frustration.

"Just make sure it won't be you one day," Pond said, putting his hand on Mix's shoulder. "We have known each other since high school, I really have no desire to come to pick you up in a similar condition as your two friends."
