"What is wrong with you?" Green asked after Earth's fist landed on his jaw way harsher than it should during a friendly afternoon practice match.
"Nothing," Earth replied and reflexively put his hands in front of him when Green attacked again.
"Bullshit! Something's up! You look like a furious dog ready to attack. If you can't calm your nerves, go practice with someone else!"
Earth avoided another punch from Green and threw his boxing glows away, "I don't need the fucking practice. You do! For what I care you can end up in the hospital after tonight!" Earth left the boxing ring and made his way towards the locker room, bumping shoulders with Narong in the process.
"Earth, what the fuck?!" Green yelled, but Earth didn't register him anymore.
The door of the locker room barely closed behind him when it opened again and Narong walked in, eyes scrutinizing Earth's every move, "go home!"
"No," Earth shook his head, grabbed a bottle of water and drank it up almost all at once.
"Have you heard what you just said to Green? That's not nice anytime, but especially not after all the shit that has been happening here recently."
Earth nodded, "hmm, yeah, shit has been happening. I wonder whose fault it might be?" He looked right at Narong, trying to see if he would get some kind of reaction. Anything. Something out of the ordinary. But Narong just frowned and went to sit down next to him.
"Am I missing something here? Why do I feel as if I'm being suspected of something... by you?"
So, the thing was—Earth was pissed. There wasn't one particular reason. More like every little problem that he and Mix were facing bundled up together and created this one giant knife that was pressing on Earth's chest and was making him incredibly relentless and just straight-up awful to be around. It had been over a week since he had been trying to find out who in the Fire Dragon could kill Mix's mother. And so far, Earth didn't have the faintest of clue. At this point, he was suspicious even of his own shadow... how ironic. On top of that, his father's condition was getting worse instead of better even though Earth had lost hope that it would ever get better a long time ago, but still, he would rather if his father would stay like that forever instead of slowly getting worse and worse.
And then there was Mix.
Earth's missed him too much. It was fucking stupid how much he missed Mix. Part of him thought that he got too attached. Yes, they loved each other, but they weren't together that long. At least to Earth, it wasn't long enough to justify why his heart felt as if it was being ripped apart every second Mix was away. Some moments he wondered if he missed Mix so much or if he just missed having someone around with whom he could share everything. Yes, there was Linda taking care of his father, but Earth wasn't really talking with her about the fight club. And yes, there were friends, and maybe one traitor, in the Fire Dragon, but with them, Earth didn't really talk about his father... not even with Narong.
