April, '90

Juliet spent every weekday of her life studying Astronomy, she sat in Diagon Alley, or in muggle cafes, reading everything she could. She had missed this life, forgetting how much she adored doing well at Hogwarts, when her OWLs were all that mattered to her. And as she slowly inserted herself back into wizarding society, she realised just how much she had missed it. People did give her odd looks in the street, more than likely people she went to school with who knew her, and one wizard in a shop saw her dark mark poke out of her sleeve and downright refused to serve her. But that would always be her life, and she knew it. Aside from that, she studied astronomy, and she read more on the dark arts and reminded herself of her love for potions. She played quidditch at James Roberts' friend's house on the weekends and they would apparate all over the country and walk. When he wasn't on auror duty, James would sit with her, reading muggle literature or testing her on astronomy. Life had truly become peaceful, for the first time in nearly eight years, she was happy.

James Roberts picked her up for lunch one afternoon and she linked his arm, as she always did, and the two ate in Hogsmeade, with him paying, and sat staring at Hogwarts castle afterwards. Juliet couldn't help but smile when she saw the castle, it had haunted her for years, the very thought of it. But now when she saw it all she felt was happiness, it was positive memories, refusing to be shrouded by her final years there.

"Only a few months 'til you're back there," he said, nudging her, noticing how she was staring.

Juliet nodded, not taking her eyes off her old home.

"Is it pathetic to say that I'm scared?"

He grinned, "course not."

"Well then, I'm terrified." She replied, which truthfully, she was.

He smiled at her.

"You're going to be incredible, Juliet. I've asked Severus to look out for you."

She snorted at that and her friend rolled his eyes. She knew James was only trying to be nice, and was desperate to look out for her in any way he could, but even before everything, Snape and her had never had a friendship.

"He's different now, after Lily-"

Juliet shook her head, willing herself not to get angry or upset at how unaware Roberts was being, "he doesn't get to think about her. Or be sad about her."

"Really? That is incredibly selfish. He loved her-"

"Snape did not love Lily," she hissed. "He would call her you-know-what constantly."

"He was in Slytherin-" Roberts said, also looking increasingly annoyed.

"So was I," she snapped. "But I never called her that. She was my friend."

"Severus had Crouch over his shoulder-"

Juliet stood up and laughed, her hands on her hips facing the man as she realised that no one would ever or could ever understand the positions which anyone was in during the war.

"Barty? I had Regulus Black looking over mine. And Lucius Malfoy. Oh, and Crouch."

James shook his head at the witch, "he still loved her, Juliet. You don't know what it's been like for him."

The witch's mouth fell open and suddenly she was furious.

"How dare you? For him? Did he go to Azkaban? Have all of his friends died? He has got no idea- you have got no idea." Juliet shook her head and turned away from him, feeling tears come into her eyes.
