"I can't believe you're going with Regulus," Arabella said excitedly as the four Slytherin girls sat getting ready in their room.
"Neither can I," Ophelia scoffed.
"Get over it, Rosier," Juliet said sweetly.
"I just never thought you'd-"
"I don't care."
"Regulus has always been in love with Juliet," Arabella smirked.
"Fuck off, he hasn't."
"Who are you going with, Ophelia?" Persephone asked politely.
"Barty," she said, smirking at Juliet. "What about you two?"
"Oh- er," Arabella started.
"Er, we're going with each other. No boys, no drama."
"Boring," Ophelia commented, gliding out of the room.
Juliet smiled at her two friends as she pinned her hair up, "would that be on account of your Gryffindor lovers?"
"Shhh!" Persephone exclaimed.
"Yeah, come on. She'd murder us."
"I wonder who she'd be more annoyed about," Juliet said thoughtfully.
"Mines a bloody girl," Arabella hissed.
Persephone rolled her eyes, "mine's a Black!"
"And they're both Gryffindors," Juliet said, smiling.
"Maybe you'd benefit from that," Persephone giggled. "Sirius said Peter used to fancy you."
"Fuck off," she laughed back.
"It's about the only thing he's bloody told me," the witch said, suddenly glum. "He never properly speaks about himself or anything that's happened to him."
"I thought it was just casual?" Arabella asked.
"It is..."
"So don't get attached," Juliet shrugged, pulling on a short black dress.
"You look fit," Arabella said, nodding at her.
"Thank you, Bella. See you there."
"Bye!" They shouted after her.
"You look beautiful," Regulus said, offering her his arm as they left the common room.
"Thank you," she smirked, eyeing Ophelia and Evan as they gave her filthy looks.
"I'm glad you could come to one, finally."
"Yes, well. I hear they're not much fun this year, anyway."
"Who said that?"
Juliet realised that it was Remus who had told her that.
"Oh, just what I've heard... around."
"Well," he grinned. "I love them."
"You love snobby high society and anyone who loves you," she reminded him, elbowing him in the ribs.
"Not true, Jules," he said, putting a hand over his heart in mock offense.
"You look very good too," she said, admiring him.
"A compliment? From Juliet Romilly?"
"Don't get used to it," she smiled, greeting Professor Slughorn as he stood at the door.
"Tell me how you're managing to get in again," Remus said, snorting at Sirius who was struggling to tie a bowtie.
