Juliet looked forward to returning to Hogwarts more this year, since it was revealed to Harry Potter that she was his Godmother, she was glad that she would no longer harbour the guilt of the secret. She was sad that Remus wouldn't be in the school with her anymore, after how close they had grown in the last year, but was also exceedingly pleased that Sirius had someone to see, and in turn that Remus had gotten his best friend back.

At the gates to Hogwarts, Severus Snape greeted her more coldly than usual, probably on account of how last year had ended, and the fact that she had stuck up for Remus and Sirius over him. They had never been friends, but she was certainly grateful for their civility. So, Juliet attempted to treat the man as normal.

"Severus," she nodded, dropping her trunks by the rest of the teachers, giving the potions professor a slightly sarcastic smile.

The man curled his lip into a scowl and didn't reply, beginning to walk towards a carriage. Juliet followed him and clambered into the carriage behind him.

"Nice summer?" She asked, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"Fine," he replied stiffly.

"Do you know who the new Dark Arts professor is?" She asked him, attempting to make civil conversation.

"No," he said.  "There's other news, though."

"Oh?"

"Hogwarts is going to host the Triwizard tournament," he said with a smirk. "Beaxbatons and Durmstrang will be on their way now."

Juliet smiled, that was exciting, there was always something going on at Hogwarts.

"All will be revealed in the first assembly," he continued. "There's talk of an age cap, though."

The witch nodded, "probably smart."

"So the famed Potter won't be able to enter," he said sarcastically.

Juliet smiled tightly and rolled her eyes.

"Am I right to presume that he's your favourite student now that your little connection to him has been revealed?"

"I don't have favourites, Severus," she said coldly.

Juliet couldn't help but smile at how excited the entire hall became at Dumbledore's announcement, hiding her grin as the Weasley twins cheered, dreading to think how Molly would react if they were chosen for the competition. She leant into Snape to point out Viktor Krum when Durmstrang entered the hall, to which he responded that he didn't, and had never, cared about quidditch.

"Eternal glory awaits the champion of the Triwizard tournament," Dumbledore spoke dramatically. "What stands in between you and success, though, are three immensely dangerous tasks. Make no mistake, these tests are not for the faint-hearted, and if you stand, you stand alone."

"Wicked," spoke Fred and George in unison, making the Gryffindor table laugh, Juliet noticed Severus rolling his eyes and sighing beside her as the twins spoke.

"So," Dumbledore continued, eyeing the boys sternly, "in order to protect our students and to ensure the tournament runs smoothly, rules have been put in place, for your own protection. To explain these changes, please join me in welcoming the head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, Mr Bartemius Crouch."

Juliet watched the familiar man walk past the staff table to stand beside Dumbledore and was overcome by a bitter feeling, remembering how he had questioned her in front of Harry, assumed the worst of her because of her childhood. Before she could dwell on the man much longer, rain started heavily falling from the ceiling of the great hall, thunder clapping, making students panic. Severus and Juliet were out of their seats first, their wands pointed upwards, but someone beat them to it.
