It had been odd, Remus kissing her again. For the first time in years. They didn't speak about much afterwards, but instead sat in silence, both with too many thoughts to form a sentence. For Juliet, it was painfully nostalgic, she felt like a twenty year old witch again, wondering what he was thinking and what he felt about her. He'd felt like a memory to her for years, blocking him out of her mind whilst she was in Azkaban, and still only occasionally seeing him before he started teaching.

Now, he was real again.

She wished there was someone to talk to about him, someone to excitedly tell, someone to giggle with. There was Anne, she supposed, but she was Remus' friend first, it was for him to tell her. Days like these were when she missed Arabella more than anything.

Remus too had been hit by a wave of nostalgia. He, however, had thought about Juliet every single day since her imprisonment, and since. Even whilst he was locking himself away, she was on his mind. He was thankful for Sirius, he supposed, he always did know what to say in situations like this. He had pushed the pair back together. The pair had agreed to eat with Sirius, in Remus' small house in the countryside, but the man was now no longer sure how to approach Juliet, feeling pathetically awkward.

He watched her, from the other side of her huge drawing room, her eyes fixed on an astronomy book, planning her classes for next year. When Remus cleared his throat she looked up and caught his eye, and smirked.

"What?" She said.

"Can't I watch you?"

Juliet smiled and laughed softly, shaking her head.

"What?" He asked this time.

"I've just missed you," Juliet said, gently putting her quill down, her eyes not leaving his.

Remus smiled at her and moved to sit opposite her on the table, closing her book and putting his hand out, when she took it he felt himself blush slightly, thinking of their closeness earlier in the day.

"Not going anywhere, Juliet."

"We ought to be going to Sirius', really. We did promise."

Remus glanced up at the grandfather clock, "you're right, come on then."

When Juliet stood up she caught Remus' arm and he turned to look at her. The dark haired witch pushed herself onto her tiptoes and kissed Remus lightly on the mouth, not letting go of his arm.

"I know it's not the same," she began. "But-"

"You're the same," he interrupted. "Nothing's changed for me."

Juliet stepped back from him, "no, nor for me. I just mean, the world's different, everything's harder."

"We've never really had it easy though have we, Jules?"

"No, that's true. I go back to school in September."

"And I'll be here, waiting," he smiled.

"And that's okay?"

Remus nodded at her, "what's a few months compared to six years?"

Juliet softened and began to speak, "I-" but changed her mind, instead wrapping her arms around the man's neck and pressing herself into him. "Let's go to Sirius."

Sirius Black had somehow always had some sort of sixth sense - or perhaps it was just his innate nosiness always providing him with answers, but the second Remus and Juliet appeared through his fireplace, both smiling more than the last time he had seen them, he burst into a grin and pointed at them.
