Leanna's POV:
Sarah and I were on lunch break. She was telling me about her newest crush, which, I am seriously surprised she has a new one just a few days after the guy she had a huge crush on, rejected her feelings.
"Wait, wait, wait. Slow down," I said, trying to get my facts straight. I think my friend has gone insane and desperate for love. "You're telling me you literally gave a random stranger your phone number?!"
"Maybe...?" Sarah gave me an innocent smile while shrugging.
I rolled my eyes at her. "Sarah, handsome or not, he could be some psycho for all you know! You shouldn't be doing that! If you want my advice, I say change your number and hope you don't have any problems."
"Le, I normally would never do this, I swear! But...I somehow felt...safe with him around....I felt like I could trust him...I felt this...Bond...with him..." she told me.
"You felt a bond? Girl, are you sure this guy was a stranger? You don't have bonds with strangers. You have bonds with people you know. Like friends and family." I pointed out, but she shook her head.
"No, Leanna. He was a total stranger. He seemed really nice...I mean, he even bought me a cocoa!" Sarah insisted.
"Sarah, just because he bought you a hot chocolate doesn't mean you should trust him so soon. You don't even know him."
"I know, Le...But...I just have this strong feeling...Like...this is the man I've been waiting for all my life. I can almost see myself in his arms...We're both so content and happy...Like we never want the moment to end..."
I sighed. "Well, you're old enough to make your own decisions. And, if you say you want to give a random stranger a chance, then I'll support you. I just hope he doesn't break your heart."
"Thanks, Leanna...I don't know yet what I'm going to do...I want to get to know him. If he calls, or he comes in again, maybe I'll have the chance," she smiled at me.
"No problem, Sarah," I smiled back at her. My mind suddenly flashed back to the stranger I met on the bench by the pond. I smiled a little at the thought. He was really nice. We seemed to click. I sometimes thought about him. I wondered if I'd ever see him again...
Weston's POV:
I sighed as I stared at the paperwork in front of me. I looked over at Grady, who wasn't even paying attention to it. He had a far off look in his eyes. I knew exactly what (or who) he was thinking about. I shook my head, looking over at Ray, who was busy doing his paperwork. It figures. He didn't care for it, but he was good at getting it done. He was a good Alpha. He was serious. His pack came before himself. His family and friends, were sort of before the pack, but they were apart of the pack, so I guess you can just say he puts the pack first.
I sighed, shaking my head before getting to work. I had done only a few pages when I heard Grady clear his throat. I looked up to see him standing in front of Ray's desk. "Ray," he spoke up. He didn't sound that calm. He sounded a little nervous.
"Yes? Do you need help, Grady?" Ray asked him, looking up.
"Well, I was actually wondering if, maybe, you'd like some coffee or something..?"
I was trying to stifle a laugh as Ray stared at him, confused. "You wanted to ask if I wanted a coffee.....?"
"Y-yea...Cause I can go get some for you if you want.." Grady nodded, still seeming nervous.
"Bro, let him go. I know why he wants to go." I mind-linked Ray.
"Is it because he's bored? I am too, but I can't have him skipping paperwork because of it." I heard his voice come through my mind.
"No. He found his mate this morning, when we were getting the pastries for Myla. He wants to go back to the cafe and see her." I explained.
Ray stared at me, shocked. He then looked at Grady with the same shocked expression. "Um...Yea, you can go, Grady...You know my favorite." he said.
Grady nodded and turned to me. "Do you want anything?" he asked me.
"I'll take a mocha latte. I've been wanting to try it. If I don't like it, I'll give it to Myla." I responded. Myla loved mocha lattes. She was not enjoying her limitation on coffee. Ray was really limiting her coffee.
Ray raised an eyebrow as he looked at me. I chuckled. "A small, obviously. And it is ok for her to have a little coffee. My mom had coffee when she was pregnant with my little brother."
"Well, yea, maybe. But I just want the baby and Myla to be healthy!" Ray declared.
"They will be, Ray. Don't worry." I gave him a reassuring smile.
He sighed and finally gave in. "Alright. I'll allow it. And, Grady, please don't take forever."
Grady nodded and left rather quickly. And I am sure I caught sight of a smile on his face. Ray and I laughed as soon as he was out of sight. We both understood what he was feeling.
"So, his mate, what's she like?" Ray asked.
"Well, I don't really know much about her. See, she's human, so we couldn't talk to her much and get to know her. Plus she was working. But, I did see her phone number on the cup she gave Grady."
Ray nodded in understanding. "Well, I assume he's going to try to get to know her soon. And probably go to the cafe everyday. But, the question is, what is he going to do about her being human?"
I shrugged. "I don't see any problems. As long as she doesn't reject him when he tells her, then he'll be fine. But, I do know that it could be pretty difficult to tell her..." I looked over at Ray, who nodded with a sigh. "I just hope she doesn't reject him..."
