Since it was nearing the end of August, the leaves were turning colors, and it had become a bit colder outside. Violet's heart was pounding; Atticus and her were about to go on a date; a walk in the woods. She stepped outside after trying to figure out which configuration of her hair made her look the prettiest, wearing a thick knitted shirt and pants. She saw Atticus step outside shortly after and she started walking down the sidewalk to meet him, still handsome as ever. He was wearing his usual suit. They approached each other and Atticus smiled. "My," He started. "You look like a picture this evening." Violet smiled. "A picture of what?" She asked. "A goddess." He answered charmingly, trying to contain all of the butterflies in his stomach. He held out his hand and she took it, and they both started walking down the street together.
"I- Thank you, Atticus. You look..." Her stuttering words trailed off as she looked at him up and down. "Very handsome." She finished, her face reddening slightly. "Thank you." He responded, knowing she had a lot more adjectives to describe him. A minute passed without them saying anything to each other, simply enjoying the fall leaves around them and the crisp evening wind. "Atticus, how'd you know my favorite color was purple?" Violet asked suddenly. Atticus slightly raised an eyebrow. "I didn't know that was your favorite color." He said. "Then how'd you know to get purple flowers?" She asked. He turned to her and smiled. "I looked at them and thought of you." Was all he said, rubbing her hand with his thumb.
They entered the forest. A leaf fell out of a tree surrounding them and happen to land in Violet's hair. She chuckled softly, but her tone changed as she felt Atticus' hand caress the back of her head, running his fingers through her hair. "There we go, it's out now." He said, holding the leaf that got caught in her hair. She simply smiled a little, but something about his hands touching her felt so... intimate to the both of them. Gods, her hair was so soft and nice, something about it just made him want to run his fingers through it and massage her scalp as she fell asleep in his arms.
But he didn't want to do that right now, he just wanted to take it slow with her. Violet thought it was going to be awkward, but for some reason it wasn't. She felt safe with him, a feeling she hadn't felt in a very long time. "The trees are so pretty." Violet said. "They certainly are," Atticus started. "But not as pretty as you tonight." "Oh stop it, Atticus. I'm not that pretty!" She said. Atticus chuckled at her. "Oh yes you are Violet, you're breathtaking." He said. Violet felt heat rush to her face and she stumbled a little. "I think you're absolutely gorgeous, no doubt in my mind about it." He continued. She blushed and looked away from him, hiding your face. "Gods above." Said Violet, flustered.
She didn't know how, but somehow Atticus had walked Violet to a tree and put her between him and the tree. He smiled looking down at her. "My..." He muttered under his breath with a smirk, and she let him softly kiss her hand like he had the other night. He slowly walked a bit closer to her as his hand moved from her hand to her arm, up to her shoulder, and then to her chin, where he cupped her face in his hand and lifted it, so that they looked directly into each other's eyes. Violet was too stunned to say anything, but Atticus still maintained the ability to speak without getting too flustered.
"I'd love to kiss you right now, may I?" He asked with a gentleman's smile. Violet smiled teasingly. "Maybe in a bit, you'll have to earn it." She said. His smile remained on his face as he nodded, letting his hand travel back down from her chin. "What will I have to do?" He asked. "You'll have to make me crazy for you." She said with a slight smile. But the truth was, she wanted him to kiss her right then and there, she just wanted to tease him first to see his reaction. She already was crazy for him, in fact, she wouldn't mind if he just forcefully pinned her against that tree and started kissing her passionately, but that was only something of her wildest dreams, she knew for a fact he wouldn't do something like that without knowing if she wanted him to, but Gods above, he was getting close to it. It had taken nearly all of his self-control to not just kiss her when he had her face in his hand, or do more than that, but he shoved those thoughts away before he could even imagine them.
A gust of wind blew sideways, causing Violet's hair to blow to the right. Atticus smiled and tucked her hair behind her ear, rubbing her cheek with his thumb. "I don't know what I could do to make you crazy for me." Atticus admitted. "Well, you're already doing it right now." She smiled. He raised an eyebrow. "Just standing here is doing it for you? Come on, I'm not that handsome." He said. "Yes, you are." She replied, putting her arms around his neck. She then felt Atticus' large, firm hands on her back and she debated pulling his head in and kissing him right then and there. The debate became a court case in her head, and it ruled in favor of kissing him.
Violet stood on her toes and leaned in, pulling herself closer to him, and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek. She let it linger, until she felt a tug at the corners of her mouth while her lips were still against his face. She pulled away to see Atticus' face become bright red, and she could tell he was desperately trying to maintain his composure, but she wondered if he was going to be able to hold onto it. Gods above, her lips looked so tempting to him, he could barely resist any longer.
"P- Please Violet, can I kiss you now?" He asked, breathing heavily. "Yes." Was all she could get out before he leaned in and kissed her lips. They were soft and supple, and he couldn't pull away, even if he tried. His breathing slowed and became louder as Violet got pushed up against the tree, but she didn't care, in fact, she was secretly hoping for him to pin her against the tree and kiss her. Violet's hands felt around his broad shoulders, moving down to his firm back, and then went under his suit jacket to feel him better. She knew he was a rather fit man but gods above, his body felt perfect. It was soft and comforting with just the right amount of muscle.
He was eventually able to pull away from her, and finally see her beautiful face again. She smiled before wrapping her arms around him, burying her head into his chest, and he hugged her, rubbing her back softly. She looked up from his chest. "So when's the next date?" She asked. Atticus chuckled. "I don't know, Violet, it's your decision." He responded. "Well, maybe we don't have to go on a date," She said. "I live by myself, my house is nice and private." She smiled. Atticus chuckled softly. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" She asked with a smile. "I think I am." He responded.
