CHAPTER 16: CAR TROUBLE

Kanan POV

The next morning, Rose slowly walked into our room wearing her pyjamas with little chick faces on them while she was rubbing the tiredness out from her eyes as she was holding a plush of Keigo. She managed to climb onto our bed to try and wake the two of us as she laid on top of the two of us. Keigo slowly opening his eyes to see that Rose laying on top of us. "Morning little chick" Keigo tiredly said to her once he got up a little bit. "Morning dad" Rose said.

"How about I'll make us some breakfast for the three of us" Keigo said. "Yeah, I'm pretty hungry daddy" Rose said. Keigo and Rose got changed and the two of them went into the kitchen to have some breakfast. After about five minutes...I woke up, got changed and went downstairs towards the kitchen.

"Morning songbird" Keigo said as he kissed my cheek. "Morning mommy" Rose said. "Morning lovebird, little chick" I said. "I've made you some breakfast" Keigo said. "Thanks lovebird" I said as I kissed his cheek.  After we had breakfast, the three of us were heading towards the school to meet up with the others.

When the three of us got to school, we went up to the Snack Stop to get ourselves a drink as my dad went to his class to teach his first lesson. The three of us heard the others walking into the common area while Calvin was telling the others about fixing a lady's car.

"And bam, we fixed that lady's car in no time. It was so awesome" Calvin said.

"Really?" Brody asked.

"Yeah and Joe offered me a job" Calvin said as they were a little bit shocked when the others walked up to us. 

"What? Right on the spot?" Hayley asked. Calvin just nodded. "That's amazing Cal" she said as she hugged him.

"I'm guessing that Joe knows a good thing when he sees it" Sarah said.

"So I said yes and I'm going to be working for Joe's Towing, full time" Calvin said as he held up a shirt.

"Um...what about school?" Levi asked.

"You know that's really important, right?" Brody asked.

"Oh, I'm done. I'm quitting" Calvin said.

 All of us were shocked.

"Hi, can I get a banana smoothie, please?" Calvin asked at the Snack Stop.

"What - babe, you aren't even close to being done with high school" Hayley said.

"Hales, it's my dream to be a pro mechanic and here is my chance. It's like Kanan said, you need to reach your dreams...wherever you may go. Besides...you know that I'm not doing really great at school. It's kind of tough for me" Calvin said.

"Yeah...I said that when we were little kids before I moved to Japan Calvin" I said.

"Just because school's tough, doesn't mean you should give up. I mean...no pain no gain, remember?" Preston asked.

"Sorry but being a mechanic is my passion. And Joe says that I know enough and I'm ready" Calvin said.

"Here you go" the woman said, handing Calvin his banana smoothie, he thanked her as he grabbed it.

"Are you really sure about this?" Hayley asked.

"Yeah, guys. I'm really sure. Please, support me" Calvin said as his phone rang. "Ah shoot, I got to meet Joe, he said that the phones been ringing off the hook with broken down cars. I see you guys later" he said as he pecks Hayley's cheek as he left.
