(Liam's PoV)

It was only half past 5 in the afternoon but I was already at Aleksei's doorstep debating on whether I should knock or stay perched on the porch.

I decided to do neither as I scrolled through my contacts and clicked Aleksei's number, the call ran for a few seconds before he picked it up, "Helloooo."

"Hi." I said breathlessly at the sound of his voice.

"What's up?" He asked and u could hear rummaging from his end of the line.

"Uh, I'm at your doorstep."

He didn't say anything and as I waited his response I sensed a figure from the corner of my eyes that stared at me from above.

I looked over and found Aleksei peeking through his window, a silly grin adorning his face as his hair fell over his forehead.

"Well, come up already! Mum's made sandwiches!" He waved a sandwich after taking a huge bite off it.

Once at the door I was greeted by Aleksei's mum who complimented me on my appearance, saying I looked rather dashing.

I made my way up to Aleksei's room and nudged the door open, Aleksei was stood before his   carefully applying his eyeliner.

Sexy.

He had faint music playing in the  background and didn't notice that I was ogling at him from his door. I made my way over to his side and he smiled at me. Handing over the plate of sandwiches he had mentioned earlier.

"You're earlier than expected."

"I thought I'd get a head start."

"You succeeded then?"

"By the looks of it."

He chuckled at our exchange and a familiar tingle ran from the top of my head to the tip of my toes.

I sat myself on his bed and watched as he prettied himself. What I wasn't ready for was him taking his shirt off like there was no one else in the room.

I looked away and pretended to be interested in the intricate details on his bed lamp whilst he changed.

"How that's," he gave me a twirl, "Richie suggested we go all out."

My jaw dropped to the floor as I watched him pat down his trousers which, mind you, we're not the main concern!

He had a crop top on that exposed his toned abdomen, it clung on to him in all the right places and though it looked extremely uncomfortable it did him good and by good I mean too good.

"Is it a bit much? Should I mellow it down?"

"No! No! I-it's nice."

He quirked an eyebrow at me, "it really suits you. You're pulling it off."

"You think?" He asked, insecurity lacing his voice.

I nodded, gulping and not trusting my voice anywhere near him when he looked like that.

"Thrifted it when I was at Brighton from a store that, I'm positive, was run by lesbians."

I chuckled at the oversharing and he joined in.

"Wow, this has your name engraved on it." I said, eying one of his silver rings that lay on the table.

"Pretty cool innit?" He said making his way to my side as he styled his hair.

"You can have it." He said emotionlessly.

I gave him an incredulous look and he pulled the ring out of my grasp, "see this?" he asked, sliding the ring over his finger, "it doesn't fit. It's too big."

It was indeed.

"My grandfather gifted me that, knew a silversmith or something. Cared enough to get it done but not enough to get the right size."

I listened as he spoke, and even after he finished speaking. I just had to stare at him, it was a hobby of mine.

He slipped the ring over one of my finger and walked back to the mirror. I stood there looking at my hands.

Did we just get married?

I clenched my fist as I felt the cold metal against my palm, a smile taking over my face at the thoughtless gesture that made my delusional mind work overtime.

Aleksei was soon done and we headed downstairs, "Please tell me you're not going out in that." Aleksei's mum voiced.

"Mother, I'm a rockstar." He sassed as he pulled out a large coat from the coat hanger.

His mother chuckled, "Alright then, you boys have fun."

Aleksei pulled the coat over himself, placed a small kiss to his mothers forehead and walked out with my hand in his.

Bliss.

We fell into a comfortable silence as we walked over to Jamie's place, he didn't let go of my wrist the entire time and I had wished and prayed that he would just intertwine our fingers already.

He didn't. And he let go of my wrist completely once we entered Jamie's garage.

We greeted the others and soon got to loading the van. Lauren caught my attention as she gave me the side eye, "what is it?" I asked.

"I didn't know you were into the whole jewellery thing." She said eying the ring in my finger.

"Aleksei's influence then?" She added.

"Even better." I said as I spoke in a hushed tone.

I slipped the ring off my and showed her the bit with Aleksei's name on it.

Her eyes widened as she looked up at me, I smiled smugly and looked walked off.

It didn't mean anything, but she didn't have to know that.

We soon got into the van and headed off towards Vera's party. Aleksei was sat beside me with his earphones plugged in and his brightness on max.

And he called me an old lady.

He looked up from his phone screen at me and unplugged one of his earplugs handing it to me. And as much as I didn't want to listen to his music I obliged to because...it was Aleksei.

He had The Libertines playing while he typed away at his phone, I tried to restrain myself from peeking but I couldn't.

"Your screen brightness is going to lead to blindness."

Aleksei looked over to me in all aloofness with his head clearly still on the conversation he was having with whoever it was on the phone.

I didn't like it.

He shook his head with a unconvincing smile and got back to his phone.

"Who is it?" I knew I was prying a bit too much but it bothered me.

"Just this girl who wanted to see me after that party. I told her I can't and she's being rather persistent." He said dismissively.

Oh. It was her.
