(Aleksei's PoV)

I gingerly made it down Liam's stairs as he followed closely, he rolled his eyes with a smile as I wiped the imaginary sweat that had (not) formed on my forehead.

"We'll be able to hear them if they were near." He said and I pointed a hand, "you can never be too sure."

We really couldn't because I caught a slight movement behind Liam and found a middle aged man in his suit and tie and a bowl of custard or something in his hand staring right back at us from one of the doors.

I stood frozen, my heart racing and my mind coming up with the worst case scenarios on how all this could go down. Liam turned around and when his eyes met with those of who was supposedly his father, I could sense his blood run cold.

The man just stared at us with a stoney expression as he mouthed spoonfuls of whatever it was that he was eating, he walked up to me and stuck his hand out, "Nice to meet you, son."

I just blinked at his outstretched hand debating on what I should do, I decided to go through with it and let my shaky hands slip into his hold. I could catch a glimpse of a smile.

He turned to Liam, "you know how your mother gets when you bring...boys over. Take your friend through the garden, your mother's talking to the neighbours." He said before pointing to the front door, warning us not to take that route.

Liam nodded frantically before dragging me to the back of his house, his grip was deadly tight and it didn't let go until I was out.

"Hey," I said and placed a hand on his shoulder, "Don't freak out. If things go down badly, which I promise it won't, phone me. Or just come over and stay...with me."

He pulled me into a hug and I held him tight, rubbing soothing circles on his back. He pulled back and I stared up into his beautiful eyes that were filled with fear, "it'll be alright. I'm here." I said as I brushed the hair out of his eyes.

He didn't smile like he always did and that only told me how bad  things were between his parents and him. I couldn't do much.

I let go of his hand and waved him goodbye before heading back to my house. Would he be okay? I couldn't help but panic.

I spent the rest of the night pacing my room, listening to loud music, stuffing my face and biting my nails.

"Knock, knock." My mother said as she peeked her head into my room.

"No one says 'Knock, knock' you know. Some of us prefer just knocking."

"Well, you would have heard me knocking if you didn't have the blasted volume up so high." My mother snapped back playfully and I smiled at her.

"Anyways, there's someone at the door for you."

I shot out of my seat and looked over to the front door. "Charles Hugh Windsor." I said in a posh voice.

"I've been trying to reach you for a while now." He replied.

I gestured towards my room and he followed. "I've..." I began but I stopped myself. How would he react if I said I slept with his best friend? Was I being dramatic?

"...been at Liam's."

"Oh?"

I just nodded and looked down.

"What happened after I left?"

"Oh, uh...we thought about it and," he cleared his throat, "I think it's quite obvious how none of us really take the band seriously so we decided to...split?"
