7:00 pm

"Can someone explain to me what's going on here?" Lucas asks.

Nothing comes out of my mouth, I'm frozen, and I'm making sure to avoid his eyes. I look at my hands and they're covered in blood, as well as my feet and my face. I'm really in bad shape, and seeing Cole as angry as right now, doesn't feel better. They'll quickly understand what happened, doesn't take a professional to understand the situation here.

"Princessa, are you okay?" Kyle adds.

I put my eyes on Kyle's blue iris only to see his worry. I don't take my eyes off him, I want to explain to him as best I can what just happened, but the words won't come out. Cole says nothing either. He just looks at me from the corner of his eye, clenching his jaw and probably cursing me in his head. I wouldn't blame him. A war is coming, and we are not ready. I wasn't ready. The guys are starting to get impatient, they're looking at me and then right at Cole. They stop to look at each other and two seconds later they start rushing to the basement. I hear them running downstairs. I'm holding my breath, hoping everything will go well. I'm delusional. I kill him without thinking about what's next. I just wanted to get this feeling out of me. Killing him didn't help with that.

When they discovered David's lifeless body, I heard my brother cursing and punching the wall. Cole runs his hand through his hair before swearing and joining the others downstairs. I head to the bathroom on the ground floor and turn on the shower. I must clean myself up, I can't look at this blood anymore. I need to clean it up. I look at myself one last time in the mirror before jumping in the shower. I tell myself that the guys will handle the situation downstairs, anyway, it all started because of them. They can clean up the mess. Once the shower is over, I put on a bathrobe and leave the bathroom. The guys are still downstairs, I get dressed while I wait for them to come back. I put on a pair of sweatpants and a sweater, then some socks and leave my hair loose so it can dry better. I hear someone shouting my full name in the living room, and I know that what awaits me isn't good. As I come down, I see them all sitting on the couch with their arms crossed and their gaze cold as hell.

"Leila, sit down," Cole says sharply.

I do what he asks and sit among them. I can feel the disappointment and the awkwardness in the room, but without paying attention to it, Cole continues "We're leaving tonight, we're going back to California."

"Is Marcus there?" I ask.

Cole gives a quick look at the guys before answering me "Don't worry about him. You only need to know that we're going back."

"It's always the same with you. Just tell me what's going on!" I say, raising my arms.

The guys are still looking at each other, I can't stand that they keep on doing this. They should stop being afraid to tell me things. I can handle it.

"Is someone going to tell me what's going on?"

"Marcus still doesn't know that you're with us right now" Kyle finally says.

"I've figured that."

"We're going to kill Marcus," Enzo says as if it was nothing.

"Basically, that's it. " Lucas adds.

"Say that again? " I say surprised.

"We're going to kill my father. " Cole says.

I know that Marcus is the one who sold me and threatened the guys to not say a word to me, but once he knows David is dead and that I'm back. I'll be his last worry since a war will happen between our two gangs.

"I don't understand... "I begin.

"He's the one who ordered David to kill your parents and he's always been in alliance with the Devils, we just didn't know it until too soon," Cole says.

"And he's the one who sold you to that pig. " Lucas spits out.

Excuse me? All this information is rushing through my head. He's the one who orders David to kill my parents? I must be in a parallel reality or something. I was ignorant and naive the whole time. I raised my head to look at them and look at each one of them to make sure they were not playing me on this one. They all look crazy with rage, with their fists clenched and their jaws as well. I can tell they're just as frustrated as I am right now.

"Since when have you known? "

"For a month and a half," says Kyle.

"Steven is in on it, and so are the Goldens," Enzo adds.

It's a coup d'état they're planning! All this time they kept it a secret and didn't do anything to let me in on it. Maybe if they had talked to me, we could have found a solution together.

Since we're heading back to California tonight, the plan to kill Marcus should be done soon. That means, Cole will take over as boss, and I couldn't ask for better timing. Knowing all this, everything makes sense now, like the time Cole and Steven disappeared to talk "business" during the gang party. The one where I killed members of the Devils, who were supposedly our enemies, but in reality, Marcus sent us there to keep up appearances. Not to mention the fact that we can't tell Marcus about my return, he would kill us all without exception. He had his own agenda but he didn't know the boys had one too.

"Be ready for 11:00 pm, I'll be outside," Cole says before leaving.

I still can't believe that in the days to come, everything will change. Things will move and fortunately for us, for the better. Marcus wanted change, and he'll get it!

12:00 am

We're on our way to the house, we packed our bags and left shortly after Cole announced it. I put on my headphones for the road, not wanting to talk, and no one seemed to care anyway. When we left for Toronto, we took a plane, but to come back to California, we needed to be discreet. Marcus must not see me in the airplane company of his precious Reds. The only way we could come back without being seen is by car and taking the little roads. Since we had a long way to go, after 24 hours of driving, we stopped at a motel. Enzo went to get the keys to the rooms while we parked the car in the parking lot.

"I have the two keys," Enzo says as he arrives.

"Who's sleeping with who?" Kyle asks, winking at the group. "Enzo you're my man tonight!"

"Leila will sleep with me, she'll be safe." Cole quickly says.

"I can protect her just fine," Lucas says.

"She'll come with me, don't try to win on this one Lucas," Cole says sharply.

"What are you trying to do Cole?"

"Let this one go, Lucas. I won't repeat myself."

Lucas gives up, seeing that it's pointless to have the last work with him and goes off to his room with Enzo and Kyle. Cole and I also head towards ours. He opens the door and I go straight to the bed. I'm surprised that he insisted on sleeping with me, Lucas could have easily been with me, and he knew it. He showed everyone he cared about me and wanted him and no one else to protect me. I'm looking forward to seeing what tonight has in store for us. We need to clarify some things and tonight would be perfect to talk things over. I lay down on the left side of the bed and put my bags on the ground. Sometimes I surprised myself watching Cole, just watching him do things, talk to people, watch his reactions. He's a mysterious person who doesn't show what he thinks or feels. At moment he'll say or do something that's showing his feeling but he does it rarely. I guess that's why I'm so attached to him, you never know what to expect, it keeps you on your toes, to wonder what's next.
