Before we get to her place we decided that we need snacks for the night. We arrived at the closest grocery shop and went straight to the snack isles. We spent like half an hour debating if we should buy popcorn or nachos. In the end we bought both, the nachos and popcorn as well as coke and some juice.
We bit had finally arrived at Ivy's apartment. We were both looking forward to a fun movie night with Ivy's boyfriend, Alex, and his best buddy, Mark.
When they joined us we all gathered in the cozy living room, the scent of freshly popped popcorn and nachos with cheese, wafted through the air, setting the stage for an epic movie night. The couple introduced Mark and me to each other, Ivy was right he is nice but just not my type. We talked for about five minutes about siblings and hobbies. Apparently he has a bigger brother that has an amazing job, but much to my despair he wasn't allowed to talk about it.We than discussed or better to say argued about the movie we wanted to watch. We all thought that our individual choice is the best and now it was a full grown discussion.
Ivy's boyfriend, Alex, had insisted on watching the 2012 classic, "The Avengers," claiming it was a cinematic masterpiece and a must-see for anyone remotely interested in superheroes. After a few groans the four of us settled onto the plush couch, each with a bowl of popcorn in hand the bowl positioned in the middle of the table, with the room dimmed as the opening credits rolled on the screen.
Ivy snuggled up to Alex, who wrapped his arm around her, Mark and I shared a knowing smile as they settled in for what promised to be an entertaining evening.
The movie unfolded, and the familiar faces of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye graced the screen. The dialogue was witty, the action was exhilarating, and the camaraderie among the heroes was infectious. Laughter and exclamations of awe filled the room as the group watched in rapt attention.
I couldn't help but admire the chemistry between the Avengers on screen, reflecting on the friendship I shared with Ivy and their partners. She realized that, like the superheroes, they too had their unique strengths and qualities that made their friendship special. One thing that also comes into my mind is, that I thought I saw someone familiar on the screen.
During a particularly intense action sequence, Mark playfully mimicked a superhero pose, and our group burst into laughter. It was moments like these that made movie nights with close friends so memorable.
As the movie reached its climactic battle scene in New York City, everyone was on the edge of their seats. The Avengers fought valiantly to save the world, and the room was filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation. I on the other hand got a familiar feeling like I was there, but chose to ignore it.
When the credits rolled, the group erupted into applause and cheers. Alex, clearly satisfied with his movie choice, turned to the others with a triumphant grin. "See, I told you it was a classic!" he exclaimed proudly.
"WAIT STOPP THE MOVIE" Ivy screamed loudly. We all looked shocked at her, because she sounds like she just saw someone dying. "What's wrong Ivy?" I asked a bit scared, I've never heard her scream like thius in my entire life before.
"There- there is your name in the final credits!! How can your name be listed there??" she exclaimed shocked.
