Lately, I've been having this recurring dream that always slips away from my memory the moment I wake up. But there's a peculiar sensation accompanying it, like a familiar whisper from an old friend. However, this time, there's an unsettling undercurrent, as if the dream is about to take an unexpected turn, diverging from its usual path.
It starts with me strolling through a park at night, the sound of my footsteps reverberating in the silent void. It's a park I've frequented countless times in reality, yet tonight, it feels deserted, devoid of its usual vibrancy.
As I wander through the eerily quiet park, the sky above seems to pulsate with an otherworldly glow, casting surreal shadows across the landscape and starting to cloud over, and a dense fog begins to gather around me. It envelopes me like a soft shroud, reducing visibility but not completely obscuring my surroundings. It's an otherworldly feeling.
A short while later, my peripheral vision caught a glimpse of movement. Slowly but steadily, the figure drew closer, until they were standing right in front of me. Their enigmatic smile added to the intrigue of the moment, but the fog that veiled their eyes kept me from glimpsing their entire visage. What I could make out, though, was a girl with vibrant, short purple hair adorned with a delicate flower crown atop her head. Her attire, an ethereal white dress, lent an air of mystique to her presence.
The enigmatic figure's presence fills me with a mix of curiosity and trepidation. In this dream, where the boundaries of reality blur, I can't help but wonder what this encounter may mean.
As I cautiously tried to approach the mysterious girl, a strange sensation washed over me. It felt as if someone else had entered my personal space, causing me to turn around abruptly. To my astonishment, the same girl I was attempting to approach was now standing right behind me. The sudden appearance of her doppelganger left me surprised.
"What the..." I muttered, struggling to comprehend the bizarre turn of events.
"Aqua-kun..." The first girl called out my name, her voice carrying an eerie sense of familiarity. My confusion deepened as I found myself back in my original position, facing the enigmatic figure before me. The girl's identity remained shrouded in mystery as she continued to obscure her eyes with the lingering fog.
"Who are you?" I finally managed to inquire, my unease growing by the second.
There was a slight pause, with no response coming from the girl.
"Umm...." I hesitated, not knowing how to proceed.
"It's me, Aqua-kun~" she chimed in, her voice lilting with an odd sense of playfulness as the fog surrounding her eyes began to dissipate.
"Ai?" I ventured a guess, although I still couldn't make out her features clearly. "No...Who are you?"
"It's me. Aa-kun." The voice that replied was, strangely enough, coming from the girl who had been standing behind me, causing me to spin around in surprise.
