"Now then, would you mind explaining what's going on, Hoshino-kun?"

Itsuki had walked on in on us when I was holding Nino who was wearing just a towel.

I calmly observed how Itsuki was slowly descending through the stairs, a scornful look on her face. Nino, on the other hand, looked too embarrassed to look her in the eye so she averted her gaze.

"So? I'm waiting."

I glanced at Nino who took a few steps back from him and turned back to Itsuki. "Listen Itsuki, I didn't do anything inappropriate to her. I simply covered her from danger that's all." I purposely kept my wording vague.

Itsuki frowned. "First Uesuki-kun, then now you Hoshino-kun. To think I trusted you just because you were kind to us and you seemed like a good person." She narrowed her eyes dangerously. "Trying to assault one of my sisters. Unbelievable."

Itsuki's accusation lingered in the air yet I remained composed, unaffected by the skepticism thrown my way. The atmosphere grew tense as Nino shuffled uncomfortably in the background.

"Unbelievable, you say?" I retorted. "I saved her from falling books. If you choose not to believe that, it's none of my concern."

Itsuki's expression wavered between disbelief and suspicion. "Saved her? From falling books?" She echoed, searching for any sign of insincerity in his demeanor.

I nodded... "That's right. Your sister here," I gestured toward Nino. "was about to be hit by a pile of books. I intervened. "

Itsuki's doubt persisted, but Nino finally found her voice. "He's telling the truth, Itsuki. He saved me."

Itsuki's stern countenance softened slightly at Nino's affirmation, but she remained cautious. "And why didn't you say anything before, Nino?"

Nino hesitated, glancing at me before answering, "I was embarrassed, okay? It all happened so fast."

"I hope you're not lying to me."

Nino seized the opportunity to add more context, her embarrassment still evident. "Itsuki, there was this loud thud when the books fell, and..." she explained, her gaze shifting toward me, silently acknowledging the unexpected act of chivalry.

Itsuki's eyes narrowed as she processed the new information.

Nino, however, couldn't resist to remark her position on this. "Not that I needed to be saved anyway. It's not like I'm weak or anything. I could've avoided the books, but he just happened to be there and saved me from it, then things got awkward afterward..."

I raised an eyebrow at Nino's tsundere act but remained silent. Itsuki, on the other hand, couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Then why were you embracing each other in the middle of the kitchen, and you were wearing only a towel no less! That was pretty indecent."
