" So, what did you want ?" I said coldly.
"Come on. Why the sour attitude?"
"I have somewhere to go after this, so I'd appreciate it if you get to the point."
I was in an underground bar with Morimoto Kengo, a co-worker in the reality show we were in, who has yet to confirm that he's a student from the White Room.
The owner of the bar is an old acquaintance of Kiyotaka so he let us in despite being underage.
"Come on...Fine. I'll tell you what I want. In simple terms, a competition." He leaned closer.
"A competition? What for?"
"To see who's better of course. The Masterpiece's disciple or me, someone from the Platinum generation."
"So you admit you're from that place."
"I do. I have nothing to hide." He extended both of his arms into the air in surrender.
I sigh heavily. "And is that what your people call me?"
"Hahaha. Quite cringy, huh? I know."
"You want to compete with me about who gets more famous on a TV show? I'm sorry but I'm only doing this temporarily for a different purpose."
"Not that, that would be outrageously boring." He waved his hand dismissively.
"Then what? You want to fight me or beat me at a written exam?"
"That could work too but I want to spice things up a little." He leaned closer. " I'll give you a sneak peek of what the current curriculum is about if you defeat me."
"I don't have anything to gain from this. That information is useless for my current goals."
"Certainly, but you have a lot to lose."
I glared at him. "Meaning?"
"You see. Our institute has more influence than before. I'm sure you already know that. Even the Masterpiece himself who's secretly working for the government hasn't been able to locate and close all of our facilities. In other words, the two of you are at a disadvantage."
"Is that all?"
"My older brother and I are looking for a challenge, he will contact you later so be patient. You'll have to beat me first if you want to get to him though."
"I'm not interested in that."
"I'm sure you will. After all, we have information about all of you. The same doesn't go the other way around. I'm sure you don't want anything to happen to Ayanokouji's family or your own, right?"
