Chapter 4 - The Annual Magic Tournament - The Finals

At the conclusion of recess, everyone returned to the stand to await the release of the semi finals fixture. The 8 people who had qualified for it sat in the a separate row, closest to the field. Just like before the start of the tournament, Kaedan got up to speak on the podium,

We are now about to begin the finals matches. Like the last 3 rounds, the same rules apply, with the only change other than this being the finals is that all matches from now on will take place here on the main field.

For the first match-up to kick off the finals series, we have Riley vs Zachary. Please make your way to the field.

The two boys got up from the seat and headed down to the field. Before they went their separate ways, Riley said "Good luck" to Zachary, who replied with "You too". The two took place at their respective ends of the ground. Everyone anxiously began to wait for the beginning, watching as the commentator took his place at the mic.

To the left, we have Riley, one of the few students with multiple powers that were both inherited from his parents. His telekinesis and some kind of spike powers, as well the ability to combine them, makes him a formidable foe.

To the right we have the electric man himself, Zachary. He has the power of electricity and the ability to turn into fish, which is funny cause he already looks like one (ignoring the shout of Zachary saying "HEY"). An interesting combo, but he makes it work

Riley got into a stance that would allow, him to a good run up at his opponent. He closed and took a deep breath, ready for a tough fight, and just milliseconds after the horn sounded to start the fight he launched  himself at Zachary. Having anticipated this due to all the training they did, Zachary sent a bolt of lightning at Riley, making it bend round him as if it was a rope. Having halted his momentum, he jumped into the air, bring Riley along with. Zachary forced him up way above him, and as he went back down, he brought Riley back with a massive force, leaving a nearly one metre deep crater. Riley someone managed to land on his feet after being launched back into the air slightly after making impact with the ground, although he was leaning forward a bit.

"Learnt that overnight, would do you think"

"Guess you're taking this seriously, so I guess I have to get serious as well"

In an instant, Riley's eyes went from brown and white to red and black, indicating that he was taking this more seriously. It was a thing with him. Whenever he was taking fights serious or being pushed to the brink in them, his eyes would change colours to show he wouldn't back down.

"You may have anticipated my leap, but you didn't anticipate this"

As Riley finished his sentence, he summoned a blaster behind Zachary, launching him towards Riley. As he got closer, Riley pulled his arm back and delivered a blow to the bottom of Zachary's chin, sending him into the air. Recovering from this, Zachary summoned many lightning bolts from the sky, aiming at random points. Riley wasn't able to avoid the first couple, but he began to weave his way through them and use his blasters as shields to protect him from them. As the last bolt came down, he whipped out his sword and deflected it back at Zachary, electrocuting him.

"How's that for a taste of your own medicine"

Zachary got back up and scoffed, whilst stating"I've felt worse". He began to power up a ball of electricity in his hands and launched a massive electrical beam at Riley, who jumped back to his end of the field and summon a Mega Blaster to counterattack the attack aimed at him. The blasts from the two attacks met in the middle with massive force, causing some of the students hats to fly off. It seemed as if they were both evenly matched, but there one advantage that Riley had. He summoned a Mega Blaster to the left and right to the one that was already there, and aimed them into the beam of energy that was already being created. The extra support was more than enough to to push against Zachary's attack, pushing closer and closer towards him. It met him with a massive explosion, throwing back and outside of the field.
