In the early hours of Saturday morning, the boat made touchdown on the eastern shores of the Ruined Villages. The lone person on the boat stepped out of it with their knife in hand. After pushing the boat back out to sea to make it seem no one had arrived on the island, they scanned the area to see if there was anyone around, before looking down at their watch. The time read 6 in the morning, which was perfect for them, as it meant no one would be up early, unless due to some unforeseen reason.
Rusty, like the inhabitants of the island, had magic. However, unlike them, they never attended the school due to their parent's beliefs. In fact, Rusty endured a very tough life. They were the youngest out of the 5 siblings of the household. His parents and their ancestors before them had no drop of magic inside of them, and had grown a hatred towards it due to the many sufferings it brought them in the past. When it was discovered that Rusty had magic, their parents began to treat them like absolute dirts, which they had slightly done beforehand. Rusty was forbidden from ever using his power, no matter the circumstances, no matter the magic and no matter the consequences of not using it, as well as not sending them to Bayside Academy. This abusive behaviour rubbed off onto to almost all of the siblings, with the oldest, 3rd oldest and 4th oldest siblings treating Rusty the same way their parents did.
The 2nd oldest sibling, by the name of Crystal, didn't treat Rusty as poorly as the others, but they had to pretend she did to hide it from the rest of the family. She helped him with schoolwork stuff in secret so everyone else wouldn't find out and also pretended to treat Rusty like they are nothing whenever someone came to check on them. She also took them out to hang out with her friends, covering it up with pretending to bully them with her friends. Despite the twenty-one year age gap between the two, they got along like siblings should.
All of the abuse and hatred they had to deal with lead to Rusty being influenced by the evil of their parents and gaining the ideas that they were the strongest magic user and if they didn't use their magic, they wouldn't reach that goal. The only thing keeping them from going psycho and doing that was Crystal.
One day when Rusty came home from school, they couldn't find Crystal anywhere. Their dad told them that she had been dealt with. Believing that they had found out about Crystal's true intentions of helping them, Rusty gathered their belonging and left in a fit of rage. As they wondered the streets aimlessly, Rusty's ideals began to grow and they came obsessed with being the strongest magic user in the world. They began to feel the hatred of their parents grown inside of them as their own. They knew in this state, they wouldn't be able to achieve that. So they decided they would go to the Academy and kill all of the magic users there, getting stronger with every kill. Once that was complete, they would return home and kill the rest of their family for mistreating them.
Once Rusty had arrived at Bayside, they were shocked to discover that a large portion of Bayside was missing. After further investigation and questioning the locals about what had happened, they found out about the incident that had occurred five years earlier. As they had been treated poorly, Rusty had been given no access to the internet, TV or newspapers, hence why they had no conclusion of what had happened.
Late on a Friday night, Rusty went out to the shores of Bayside with a small boat, some food and water, and a knife. Having spent the last few months in Bayside planning things out, Rusty had come up with two different scenarios. The first was that they would make it to the island, and the second was not making it a dying. While both scenarios were wins in their eyes, Rusty preferred the first one. As the left for see, Rusty began the long next eight days of travelling to try and find the island, leading to them where they were standing now in the island.
Rusty walked along the sandy beach towards a dirt path that lead to some sort of gate , with a lone person leaning on the side of one of the supports. As Rusty approached, the student looked up at them.
