Beep beep beep

Riley woke up to his alarm like he did every morning. He got out of bed and picked up his phone. There was a message on the group chat from Adam reading: If any of you want to come for breakfast at our local cafe, I'll be there. That settled what he was doing for breakfast. He went back up stairs and got changed to his normal clothes of a t-shirt, tracksuit pants and his favourite jumper. After brushing his teeth like he normally does whenever he goes out for breakfast, he left his house and made his way to the cafe.

As he approached, we saw Adam and Zachary sitting outside at one of the tables. As he went to sit down, he said "Morning fellas."

"Morning" they both replied

As Riley ordered a hot chocolate, which he recently took liking of earlier in the week, Adam got a message on his phone. He went to look at it and after reading it, he said to the others "Kaedan can't make it. King businesses."

"Same as usual. Anything from the other's?" Zachary asked.

"They haven't replied. Niamh was just online, but went offline not long after and left the message on read."

"That's unusual. They would normally reply to the message if they read it." Riley pointed out, before adding "I'm heading their way later as something I ordered at one of the shops down there has come in, so I am check and see if everything is alright."

"You can do that if you want."

After having their breakfast, the three went their separates, with Adam heading to pick something up from work, Zachary returning home and Riley going to the Ruined Village. He made a brief stop at his house to grab a bag so he could put what he ordered in it.

As Rusty passed through the gates, they saw someone approaching them with a bag in hand. They got ready to have their knife at the ready, but as they got closer, they recognised who it was.

"That's... that's one of the strongest users. That... Riley kid" they thought to themselves.

Whilst in Bayside, Rusty had heard a lot about the students there, especially the ones who were considered the strongest. They remembered one of them being Riley, who was known for his wide variety of magic attacks and his mastery on them. In fact, it was talked up so much that he was one the ones that Rusty was the most worried about.

"I have gotten stronger, but he's probably out of my league at the moment. I better not risk it." Rusty continued to think as they moved their knife back into their pockets. "I'll just play it cool like nothings up".

As Riley got closer to the gate, he noticed someone passing. For some reason, they looked familiar. Curious, he said to them as they passed him "Excuse me."

The person turned to him with a slightly worried expression on their face. Riley asked them "What's you're name?"

"Rusty." They replied quietly.

"Nice to meet you, my name's Riley. I don't know why, but you seem familiar. Have we met?"

Inside their head, Rusty let out a scream. What did he mean "Have we met". They had only heard of him, but never seen him in person. If he found out their secret now, there'd be no reversing time as they would be too weak to surviving one of his strongest attacks and wouldn't be able to enough damage to him.

"I... don't believe.. we have... um... met before" Rusty mumbled.

Riley could see that they were worried. "Did I startle you? Sorry. I don't usually scare people. Well, people your height anyways."
