World that isn't mine

'Who the fuck is this?'

Y/N was fully willing to admit he cared little for politics. Often what he said went and any who opposed were either convinced or removed, befitting of his title as a Tyrant. Not that that had happened often with most Kansen agreeing with his decisions and world leaders being smart enough to do as he said when it came to dealing with the Siren threat

But he knew damn well that the man sitting behind the desk wasn't the madman his country had bowed before. Sure the man had the moustache but he wore glasses and looked far less intimidating than the leader of the nazi party Y/N had killed

"... Why is he glaring at me like that?" The stranger spoke, his voice having a slight wheeze that Y/N recognised as lung damage, probably from an explosion going by the scar that ran down the side of his face

"You are not the man I know" Y/N answered before anyone had the chance to respond to the stranger "From what I have seen so far your world history matches perfectly with mine, except now I see you instead of Hitler." Oh how he loathed the name of that human supremacist

Y/N stood at attention in the centre of the ornately decorated office that belonged to the Fuhrer, signs of this alternate German history occupying nearly every space. The Reichsadler is shown in both its single and double-headed variants on different flags and items along with many other parts of important history such as photos and paintings

"I am Hitler though?" The man responded in slight confusion, the wheeze in his voice becoming more prominent as he shifted uncomfortably in his seat "Adolf Hitler if that helps."

The battleship raised an eyebrow in turn. This man was Adolf Hitler? The looks matched if he imagined the madman with glasses and scrawny, but this man before him lacked the detestable fire of the one Y/N knew, a fire that burned down nations

"It doesn't. The Adolf I knew was a human, more specifically, an Arian, supremacist who directly led to the deaths of more than 30 million people, both through war and concentration camps." The memories he had of that man were anything but pleasant. He had taken great joy at the sound his neck had made as it snapped

The man, Adolf because the name Hitler was one many despised, paled at Y/N's words. As did the military generals and inner circle that were in attendance. Adolf took his glasses off and rubbed his nose, a look of horror and great sadness plaguing his features

"Why?" No more was needed, for the pain and desperation that came with that single word carried lifetimes of regret and pain that Y/N had not known to belong to the man who shared the same face as the one before him

"Reasons you would sleep better at night not knowing."

The man stared at Y/N for a long hard second, dark eyes swirling with questions yet too afraid to get the answer. They stared at each other for a short while, neither moving to break contact but neither moving forward

"I read here you're actually a ship?" The question stated by one of the others in the room was clearly used to break the awkward silance and both men were more than willing to accept such a break with Adolf bridging his hands to rest his chin on and Y/N straightening into a proper militaristic stance

"Indeed. You are all aware of Siren's use of timelines correct?"

"Nothing further than speculations, but I assume you mean to tell us they are true?"

"In far worse ways than you could imagine"

Silance

Observer had always liked the quiet. It was a peaceful thing that allowed her to work uninterrupted, far away from the loud chatter of her kin and the roar of the battlefield that was their halls.
