"So this is your... ship?"
Mussolini, the Dictator of Italy
"You seem to have agitated the poor chap."
Churchill, Prime Minister of Britain
"..."
de Gaulle, President of France
"I would ask you not to antagonise him, Duce."
Adolf, Fuhrer of Germany
The leaders of the European powers, all gathered in this single room in the Reichstag building having a civil conversation
Y/N found the situation funny in that ironic sort of way, but he wouldn't deny the Fascist leader of Italy's words had gotten under his skin. The man had long since been dead in his own timeline, overthrown by the people he once ruled, but here he was like the arrogant human he was
Y/N had heard stories from his kin in Italy, stories they heard from the men who once manned them
The man wasn't to be trusted
Y/N would admit truthfully that he didn't pay attention to the conversation between the 4 leaders, instead turning inward to the information he knew and what he could deduce from the situation
The communists hadn't attended this meeting, Stalin was busy defending his nation from the Siren raids on their eastern border. Even in his timeline with the help of Kansen, the nation had struggled, their vast land and poor infrastructure making it difficult to resupply their dockyards and repair their ships that were in constant uphill battles
The Americans hadn't either. At this point in time, they were still an isolationist country, set to not interact with the rest of the world even as their shores were bombarded and their cities ruined. In their case, this was perfectly alright. They didn't have to trade with the rest of the world, their own land was more than enough to supply them with all they needed. Unfortunately, this left them as an island cut off from helping or being helped
The Japanese hadn't received an invitation. Despite the dire situation the world was in the country that would come to host some of his closest friends had proceeded with its war on China in a desperate bid to gain more land for its people. By the men in this room, Japan was still considered a feudal society, their houses were built with wood and their governmental systems ancient
While this proved most of history was still the same, there were some obvious changes... like the fact France still existed as a single country
From what Y/N had managed to gather, though he had taken some time to do so, Iron Blood was similar to Germany in fewer ways than one would expect. Firstly there was no Nazi party, just the Iron Dominion led by Adolf
An Adolf who had made it into art school
An Adolf that had his lungs damaged in the trench
These 2 events, such small things separately as no one cared about an art school student or the fact a soldier got injured, completely changed the course of history in a way that only Y/N could appreciate
Secondly, Iron Blood had still lost the Great War, but they hadn't been as heavily punished. The French president at the time had relented to his fellows and not punished Iron Blood as greatly as they had in Y/Ns timeline
This led to an Iron Blood that was stronger both economically and spiritually than Germany had been
Despite all these Adolf still rose to power for a single reason
Hitler had been a horrible man
But he had been a damn good speaker
How else do you convince an entire country that genocide is the way to go?
