"Well that was eventful," I sigh, plopping down in the couch.
"Yeah, it was," Caitlin responds, plopping down next to me.
We sit in silence for a while, just enjoying each other's company, when I come up with an idea.
"Hey, wanna ask each other some questions?" I ask her.
"Sure," She responds, facing me.
"Okay, favorite color?"
"Blue."
"Animal?"
"Tiger."
"Lava mob?"
"You, obviously," She says, rolling her eyes. I chuckle.
"Okay, this is gonna get deep, so you don't have to answer if you don't want to." I tell her.
"It's fine; ask away."
"Okay... Who's Dane?" I ask.
A look of pain flashes through her eyes, but she quickly covers it.
"He was my bully... Apparently my dad sent him to take me back home. Remember that Mohawk guy that beat me up?"
"Yeah," I respond, remembering that day.
"Dane was his son." She says.
"Oh," I quietly say.
"Yeah..." She trails off.
"If you don't mind me asking, what was home like?" I ask.
She swallows, obviously recalling the events. "Really bad... Ever since I turned nine, my parents became awful. My mother used to yell at me every chance she got, but she could be a softy sometimes. My dad was worse.. H-he was a drunk... H-he..." Her eyes become glassy. "H-he abused me, and whenever his friends tried to come over...." She trails off, starting to cry.
"Don't cry," I comfort her. She doesn't stop, so I pull her into my arms, and she stops crying.
"Promise me... That you'll never let me go back there... It's t-terrible there."
"There's no way I'd ever let you go back there, promise or not." I whisper.
"I have a question," She says.
"Just a question?"
"Yes, just one." She confirms, smiling.
"Ask away."
"What are we?" She asks.
"Whatever you want us to be," I respond.
"I-I don't know." She stutters.
"Then I'll be waiting for you to decide," I reply.

"NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I yell."I can't believe you did that!" Lachlan laughs. "I rate that eight out of eight mate. Top banter."
I slam my hand into the desk. "I FUDGING DIED TO LAVA!!! WHY!?!"
"You're baaaadd." Lachlan responds.
"I'm done." I state, taking off my headphones and walking away. I return 30 seconds later with a coffee in hand. Much better.
"Is the cactus pleased?" Lachlan asks.
"Better," I respond.
