51- Caitlins POV

I yawn, stretching and opening my eyes to see our dark room. What time is it?

I look at my phone to see that it's two in the morning. I focus my eyes on the empty side of the bed, the blanket ruffled.

Guess Preston decided to stay at the office last night... I sigh. He's only been there overnight for a few days lately...

My phone vibrates, and I pick it up, opening the message. My eyes widen in fear and my pupils dilate, dropping my phone and clutching my legs tightly, the pounding of my heart never ceasing. I rock myself to try and calm myself down, and when I do, I slowly pick up the phone and read the message.

I'm watching you.... Soon, sweetie.... 😈

Shivers run down my back as I know exactly who it is... Dad... But why now?

I slowly stand up and walk throughout the dark condo and to the coffee machine. I make a coffee and sit down on the couch, connecting my phone to the tv. I put on Hai to Gensou no Grimgar, my latest discovery, and sigh, wrapping my hands around the mug, slowly taking in the eerie silence.

The show starts, and I watch, the feeling of being alone never leaving me.

I pick out some clothes and take a shower. Afterwards, I change and brush my hair, teeth, and apply makeup to my face.

I sigh again, realizing that I will most likely be alone the whole day. I walk to the bed and dig under it, pulling out my present for Preston. I rub my hand over it and look through a couple pages before putting it back and taking a deep breath.

I mischievously smile, pulling out my phone and asking Twitter what I should do to prank Preston. A few seconds later, my phone blows up with notifications.

I grab my camera and smile into it. "Hey, what's going on guys, it's Darude or Caitlin here, and today I decided to do a little vlog. Preston is currently at the office, so I have the condo to myself! So, I asked you all on Twitter what I should do, and a majority said..." I scroll through my phone, looking at the comments. "Decorate the condo." I smile brightly. "I love that idea! If you guys didn't know, tomorrow is Preston's birthday! So, let's get going!" I sling my purse over my shoulder and walk out the door.

I walk down the streets, talking to the camera and ignoring the weird glances directed at me. I stop in front of Party City. "Alright, see you guys inside!" I shut off the camera, walking through the store. I smile, laughing inside as I see the perfect prank.

I whip out my camera, internally laughing. "So... I think I found the perfect things." I point to the Disney princess decorations, and laugh. "He'll get a kick out of this." I say, grabbing some decorations and walking around to get some normal ones.

Suddenly, Holden walks by. "Yo, Holden!" I yell, catching up with him.

"Yo." He smiles at me.

"Whatcha doing here?" I ask.

"My girlfriends birthday is in a few days." He replies.

"Cool! Catch you around?" I ask.

"Yeah." He nods, walking off.

"Alright. See you guys back at the place." I say, shutting my camera off.

"Whoa!!" A voice says right next to me as I wait in line. I turn my head to the person and smile down at the child. He looks about eleven or so. "You're Darude, right? Caitlin?"

I smile brighter. "Yeah, I am."

"Can I t-take a picture with you?" He stutters.

"Of course!" I agree. I get down to his level and his mother takes a quick photo of us. "What's you're name?" I ask him.
