After we finished talking to Jerome and Mitch, I help Caitlin edit the video, and then edit mine.
"Hey, wanna grab a bite to eat?" Caitlin asks, pulling me out of my editing trance.
"Sure. Where?" I ask.
"I don't know; maybe Texas Roadhouse or something?" She responds. (A/N: I don't really know any other Texan restaurants plz don't kill me I fan)
"Yeah, let's go!" I say, grabbing my wallet.
----TIMESKIP----
We arrived at Texas Roadhouse and get our seats almost immediately. I pull out Caitlin's chair for her.
"Why thank you kind cactus." She says, sitting down.
I sit across from her and reply, "You're welcome fair maiden."
She rolls her eyes. "Please don't go medieval on me."
"What if I told you this was everyday language?" I retort.
"Then you'd be an idiot." She responds rolling her eyes again.
"A cute idiot." I add.
"Meh." She responds.
"Meh, really? You're just afraid to admit how cute and awesome I am." I say.
"Preston, you know I'm not allowed to lie." She leans in and whispers, wide-eyed.
I gasp and put a hand over my heart. "I feel so offended right now."
"The truth hurts." She says, giggling. And did her giggle sound adorable.
"Oh wow... You're darude." I say.
"Well-" Caitlin is cut off when a waitress comes over to us.
"Hello, my name is Amber, can I start you guys off with something to drink?" She asks.
"A water please." Caitlin replies.
"I'll have a coke." I add.
"Okay, I'll be right back." She says, going to another table before coming back with our drinks and taking our meal orders.
----TIMESKIP TO WHEN FOOD IS ORDERED AND STUFF----
"Mmmmm I love steak!" Caitlin says.
"Wow. And I thought I loved steak." I reply, comparing our plates. Caitlin's is completely devoured while I have literally three bites left, and am struggling to finish.
And now I have two bites left, because a fork comes out of nowhere and swipes my steak away. "Darude." I whisper, and Caitlin laughs.
"Come on Preston, two bites left." I whisper, struggling to eat.
"Preston, Preston, Preston." Caitlin chants over and over. I finish my last bite and sag in my seat. That was more food than what I ate at my family picnic, and trust me, we eat a lot at the picnics.
"YES PRESTON!" Caitlin yells, catching the whole restaurants attention. I chuckle.
"Hey boy, keep your girlfriend quiet!" An old lady yells at us. I blush and laugh at her comment. I look over at Caitlin; she's also laughing and blushing. We make eye contact and laugh harder.
Caitlin pulls out her wallet, and I snatch it away from her. "Give it!" She says.
"No." I respond. "You're not paying."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Fine, but I got the tip." She responds, grabbing her wallet and pulling out a ten. I pay for the meal, and we both get in the car and I start to drive.
"Uggghhhh I feel so fat." Caitlin groans.
"Well you are." I reply.
Caitlin glares at me. "Not something you should say to a girl you know."
"The truth hurts." I respond, quoting her from earlier.
"Wooooooww." Caitlin says, but laughs. Her laugh is contagious, and before I know it, she has me laughing too.
Man, what would I do without her?
