Rob, Preston and I meet in the living room. I stand next to Rob.
"Alright, resume!" Preston says.
"I accept your challenge!" Rob says.
"Alright, we shall have a pillow fight and if I win I will have your sisters' hand in marriage."
"And what about if I win?" Rob inquires.
"You may call me whatever you want for a whole week." Preston responds.
"But you guys are leaving tomorrow." Rob whines.
"Fine... You can give me a dare." Preston says.
"Sounds good!" Rob agrees.
"Let the battle begin!" I tell them. However, they do not know that I have a secret up my sleeve.
The two battle it out, and it looks like Preston is winning. I grab the nearby pillow and run at Preston while his back is turned. I jump on his back as he is about to hit Rob, and we both fall (very ungracefully) to the ground.
"Owww!! Caitlin!! Why!!!?!" Preston groans.
Meanwhile, Rob is thankful. "I owe you one, your highness." He bows.
"It was my pleasure Robert." I respond, grabbing his outstretched hand. He pulls me off, and Preston slowly gets up.
"Let's get down to business, shall we?" Preston says.
Before we can agree, I am swept off of my feet and hear laughing. I look up at my captor to see a laughing Lachlan.
He stops at the frame in the doorway. "I am the evil dragon Aussie, and I have come here to make the Queen my friend." Preston and Rob turn towards us, stopping their fight.
"What?" I ask Lachlan.
"Please be my friend your highness." Lachlan says, bowing.
"I don't know..." I trail off.
"All right, it's settled. If I defeat these two peasants, than Queen Caitlin will be my friend!" Lachlan exclaims.
"You're on!" Preston says.
"Yeah, nobody takes my little sister away from me and gets away with it!" Rob argues.
Even though we're not related, in that moment I actually believed that he was my brother. He has the same fighting spirit as I did, at least, before I gave up.
"Rob..." I whisper, looking at him in admiration and awe.
Preston and Rob look at each other, and simultaneously yell, "UNISON RAID!!"
They grab the pillows and fight Lachlan, who grabbed a couple pillows of his own. The three fight for a while, but eventually Lachlan falls to the ground.
"Alas, we have defeated the evil dragon Aussie!" Rob exclaims. The two walk over to me, and Preston kneels next to my side.
"Are you okay?" Preston asks.
I smile at my next choice of words. "Yes, thank you. How ever can I repay you?"
"I don't need repaying." Preston responds, shrugging.
I wrap my hands around his neck. "Of course you do. Money, jewels, a kiss perhaps?"
Suddenly, Rob coughs, making me laugh at his awkwardness.
"Your hand in marriage?" Preston asks.
"I give my blessing." Rob says.
"Okay, I will accept your marriage request." I respond, taking his hand and standing up. Rob grabs my other hand, and we all now.
"And scene." Rob says once we all are standing upright. Clapping is heard, and we look to see that Alanna has recorded the whole thing. I blush lightly at the thought.
"Is Lachlan okay?" Preston asks, walking over to him.
"He's fine, just sleeping. One hundred episodes of Fairy Tail did not so him any good." I reply humorously.
"Yeah." Preston agrees.
However,I never knew that this fun morning would turn into a terrible afternoon.
----------------------------------------
"I can't help it; I'm sorry." Alanna replies, tears streaming down her face. I hold tightly into her like both of our lives depend on it. "Jerome used me." Alanna says in between sobs."I know. That's awful." I tell her. I look straight ahead, and pure hatred and anger run through my veins. I bet my face looks terrifying. "If Jerome even thinks that he will get away with this, he is mistaken. Nobody hurts a friend; a family member, and gets away with it."
"You sound like Natsu." Alanna whispers from my shoulder. I chuckle at the thought.
"I feel like him right now... If only I had his dragon slayer magic, I would wipe the floor with Jerome."
Alanna laughs at my words. "Thanks for being my best friend." She says.
I widen my eyes. "Best... Friend?"
"Yeah." Alanna responds.
"I have a best friend? Really?" I ask her, uncertain.
"Yeah, we're best friends." Alanna replies.
I hug her tighter. "Thank you for being my best friend, Alanna. You don't know how much this means to me." Tears fall from my eyes.
I have... A best friend?
I have a best friend!
"I can't believe that Jerome was just dating me because he was waiting for his ex, Louise, to finish college..." She trails off.
"I know... I'm here for you." I tell her.
Suddenly, Jess enters the bedroom. Her face turns into one of shock at our state.
"What happened!?! Alanna, you're crying, and Caitlin looks likes she's about to murder somebody!" Jess exclaims.
"Jerome was dating Alanna just because Louise was in college." I respond, looking at her. Alanna cries harder.
"And... And the worst part was that I knew! I knew the whole time that he really liked her, and I only told myself that I was dating him because he's a close friend. He was really down and he needed someone to be there and help him... But I never knew that I was going to fall in love with him!" She cries out. I hold onto her tighter, surprised at this new information.
Jess closes the door and sits by Alanna's side. She rubs her back comfortingly.
"First off, Caitlin, you're squishing the poor girl." Jess states. I let go of Alanna.
"Sorry." I smile apologetically.
She smiles back at me. "I enjoyed it. Thanks, Caitlin."
"Yeah. I'm always here." I respond.
"Alright; I know Louise." Jess says once we both look at her.
"You do!?!" We both say.
(A/N: please take no offense to this; I don't know Louise personally, but I bet she's amazing!!)
"Yeah, Jerome's invited her over before. Anyways, she seems polite, but she can be an absolute jerk... Most of the time... She's also really clingy, but has an awesome sense of humor." At this, Alanna's face falls.
"But if Jerome is into her, with her personality, he doesn't know what he's missing out on. Now we got you all to ourselves!" Jess says.
"Jess..." Alanna whispers, tearing up. She wraps her arms around her and at first Jess doesn't respond, but then slowly wraps her arms around her. They break apart.
Alanna sniffles. "Seriously, I love you guys."
I smirk. "More than Jerome?"
"More than Jerome. He's in the past." Alanna responds, wiping her eyes.
"Good." I respond. "Can I kill Jerome still?"
"No." Jess says. Alanna looks away uncomfortably.
"How about a night of Netflix and chill?" I ask.
"We're in!" Alanna and Jess agree.
