A/N: get a box of tissues. I am warning you.
----------------------------------------
My phone buzzes, and I pick it up. It's a text from Kenny.

You've really helped Preston, you know that?

How so? I reply, confused.

He had done some bad things. He was really depressed after Rob cheated on him, but you came into his life.

Preston? Depressed?

Yeah. He used to drink.

Wow... No more bottles for him. Thanks for telling me this. I reply.

Yeah. Hope I didn't scare you or anything. Just thought you should know.

I appreciate it; thanks. I reply.

Preston... Drinking? He never drinks.
----------------------------------------
"I'm gonna call a cab and get Alanna." I yell to Preston, who is recording.

"Alright." He yells back.

"See ya!" I pop into his room and wave.

Something doesn't feel right...

"Yep." He replies. I walk to the door and hesitate.

Preston's busy right now, Caitlin. Don't disturb him.

I take a deep breath and call a cab while walking outside.

The cab pulls up a few minutes later and we drive an hour to the airport... By my old house.
----------------------------------------
"Hey, Alanna!" I hug her tightly.

"Caitlin!" She says. I help her put her bags inside the trunk and we get in the cab. "I haven't seen you in forever! How're things with you and Preston!?!"

"Things are running really smoothly. But he's been acting weird around me lately."

"That's called love." She whispers.

"Oh... Love love?" I ask.

"Yes, Caitlin. Love love." She says, and we both laugh.

"I'm so glad you came to visit." I sincerely say.

"I am too. Thanks for having me." She says.

"Yeah, yeah." I reply. "So, how're things with you're family?"

"They're great!" She smiles at me, and I smile back.

I look out the dark window, and headlights appear.

Everything happens too fast.

I catch a glimpse of my father as he  trucks head on in a tractor trailer. "Look out!" I yell as complete fear overwhelms me.

The driver cannot swerve. "Alanna!" I scream in that split second before we crash.

"Caitlin!" She screams. I reach out for her, but we crash head on. The taxi tumbles off the road and down the hill, and I close my eyes and hold on for dear life as glass rains down upon us.

"Alanna, are you okay?" I ask as immense pain overwhelms me. She doesn't respond. "Alanna?" I open my eyes, but she is not in sight. "Alanna?!?!" I yell I fear. "ALANNA!" My vision starts to get hazy as the pain starts to overwhelm me, but I fight it off to try and get out of the car. Blood drips down my face and I can't feel anything except pain, pain, and more pain.

I make out mangled Alanna's figure in the distance. My legs are stuck. I fight in hysterics, trying to get out of the now burning car. I look in front of me, hoping that the driver is okay. His face is through the windshield, and he is cut in multiple places. H-h-he's d-d-de-dead! I scream.

The faint sound of sirens resonate in the distance, but all I can hear is the pounding of my own heart. I try to free myself, but I can't. The car will blow up any moment. Suddenly, the fear of losing my best friend sinks in. I push with all my might, but it still doesn't budge.

Preston.... I can't leave him. What'll happen to him? Preston...

I cough and scavenge around for my phone, which is miraculously still in one piece. I dial his number, waiting for him to pick up. Only my will is keeping me conscious, as I would've already passed out from the immense pain.

Preston doesn't answer, and I try again. He picks up. "Hey, Caitlin. What's up?" He casually asks.

"P-p-pre-Preston..." I choke out. I break out into a coughing fit.

"Caitlin, what's wrong? Are you okay?" He asks, fear laced in his voice.

I cry. "I-I'm so happy that i-i ca-can h-hear y-your v-v-voice." I cry.

"Caitlin, you're scaring me." He says.

"I-i-" I cough. "I got in an accident. I-i can't f-fi-find Alanna. My legs are stuck. I-I can't move." I cough again. The fire crackling gives me goosebumps and I can't keep my eyes open much longer.

"Caitlin! Babe, stay awake!" He yells.

I blush despite my terrible condition. "I-I can't." Suddenly, the car jerks backwards, and I scream. The car tumbles down another hill and more glass shatters on me. Once the car stops, my legs are lodged in tighter.

"What happened? Where are you?!" Preston practically yells into the phone.

"I-I'm sorry." I breathe deeply and say as the pain finally engulfs me and the sirens get louder.

Then, eternal darkness.
